My father, Wilson Douglas grew up near the Speer family. As a Nazerene evangelist in late 40's n early 50's they were often the singers in dad's revivals. Dad n mother, Iva (Palmer) Douglas were in classes with Ben n Brock in TNC. As a small child, when they were home, we would practice their songs, Dad had an album recorder. I have some albums they recorded at their home. Grandma would give me a small plate with cookies and a glass of milk. I would sit under the table with my doll and have my little meal while they practice and thought l was in Heaven😅

I have listened to this beautiful singing several times but every time I listen,it sounds sweeter and sweeter.God lift up my family choir to this level.

My grandparents had this record, and a lot of their other records. The Speer Family was their favourite Southern Gospel group.

Thanks for posting this. Always loved the Speers. I Spent Thanksgiving with Don & Bev Toland and they mentioned they had talked to you recently. Thank you for saving all these oldie but goodies.

I DISCOVERED THIS KIND OF MUSIC 🎵🎶 AND THIS GROUP IN A STUPID WAY! I WAS GOING SOMEWHERE, WHEN I WALKED OUT OF MY HOUSE, AND I FELL AND FRACTURED MY RIGHT ANKLE, AND WAS OFF OF MY FEET FOR 3 MONTHS!
