Honestly I think the difference is how they treated their daughters when they finally met them. Klaus loved Hope and was willing to sacrifice himself for her, Katherine wasn’t willing to risk her own skin for Nadia. She could’ve called Klaus or had someone else contact him for her, but she wasn’t willing to risk her own death to save her own daughter. And then she snapped back like nothing had happened after Nadia died. Don’t get me wrong I love them both as characters, but klaus did horrible thing to his family and to others to protect his family in the only way he knew how. Katherine put herself and her fun before her family. It’s less about having family, and more about how much they loved their family

@@LMSPetRescue klaus killed people because he was annoyed and he was sadistic . Most of the things he did was nothing connected to his family . Katherine on the other hand did everything to save her own ass. Tell me one why would klaus even give the cure to her .klaus wanted to torture her so even if he gives her the cure , he will ask something in return. Katherine valued her survival more than anything but still she came there to spend her last moments with her daughter and knowing they were going to kill her.

@@tylerrayford-jackson9796 exactly. Katherine had locked all those feelings far away to protect herself. It's absurd and naive when people think it would be easy for her to instantly let those feelings back in. Klaus never even got there.

These make 15 different identities played by only one person, but still recognized bz the whole fandom which is just insane.

No, Kluas had 1000 years without his daughter, at his core he did care about others in the form of his family, season 4 ending. Katherine was put herself first before everyone else, only showed true selfless love when Nadia was on her death bed. Selfish bitch at her core.

When Katherine got her one family member back, u could see how much she loved Nadia, more than her own

Klaus treated his family like shit too, and the main reason Katherine did all of those things was because she was on the run from Klaus. In reality, if Katherine was a man she would have been redeemed. Hell, just look at Damon, the man who raped and abused Caroline but somehow got a happy ending. Katherine got the short end of the stick because Julie Plec is obsessed with somehow redeeming the worst men imaginable while condemning the women who aren't even as bad. The only difference between Damon and Klaus vs Katherine is that they had family members who were willing to deal with their bullshit.

Actually no. She lost her humanity a long time ago. Rose said that after a few hundred years you can't actually turn it on and off since it's kind of morphed into your vampire self. Katherine is not human in any way. Yes she has emotions but she is no longer Katerina Petrova.

Problem for me is that Klaus that was far worse than Katherine received a redemption arc and was lucky enough to have his family around him and even forgive him after everything he's done, he didn't deserve that redemption arc, he was a villain and deserved to be treated as such, meanwhile look at Katherine she had an awful end

@@randomuser0483 nobody is saying Damon was awful all the way through. Chill, you’ve been all over the TVD videos hating on Stefan and Stelena lol. It’s how you know the show is good: when the characters are so complex and commit so many acts in morally gray areas, the fan base becomes divided of sorts, preferring one over the other and every fan has a damn good reason, too, because each character is really unique and can go either way (a hero or a villain). Same with the Originals. All members of the original family represent and reflect certain parts within us. It’s who we see ourselves in that determines the extent of how much we like (or hate) the character. In my case, I started with a strong dislike towards Klaus, only to realize years later that he was too much like myself, so I guess, I didn’t accept those parts of me at the time. Etc etc. I’m still a Marcel and Stefan kinda gal, going by personality alone.

Agree on the like of Klaus for the dislike of Katherine. I do get people who don't like Katherine for her personality BUT I don't get people who don't like her for her specific actions because well, you should hate everyone in the TVD universe then. Klaus top tier of hate. For Hell when it was introduced it was said to Damon that because of their actions in the past, he and Stefan will roat in hell when they died. It was also said to Stefan later when Cade met him. When Stefan died, Katherine died with him so Hell was destroyed. His ghost couldn't go there, it didn't exist anymore. So yeah he did find peace because the rules of Cade's world didn't exist anymore. Peace was more a state of mind I think and Stefan did reach that. I do think Katherine deserved a way better ending. I already didn't like how she was stabbed again and again during the final. They were killing her legend by stabbing her like nothing. I loved her first death in season 5, Stefan by her side. It was perfect. I didn't like her arc after that when she was in Elena's body. I honestly hated it. But the death that follows was also very good with the goodbyes to Nadia and Stefan. So I was still fine with it.This one is the worst. The only thing that saved it a little was the fact she dies with Stefan, the love of her life. Otherwise it was just shitty for her character and she didn't deserved that. If even Vicky gets to have peace, they could have give it to Katherine...

@@pyxelly0506 True. But Julie said she had to kill Katherine because of Nina's contract. It was too much for the actress. That' s why Kath took Elena's body. This way Nina wouldn't be so tired. Julie said Kath's death happened just because of the contract. When Paul played Silas, for ex, Stefan was not there. But Nina played multiples characters at the same time in the same scene! Stefan and Katherine should be Endgame. Caroline and Stefan didn't work as a couple but they were cute as friends! Zero chemistry! Love Katherine! 🇧🇷🤷🏻‍♀️😍

Stefan and Klaus both realized the error of their ways. They both died in the end for who or what they loved. Katherine died because she wanted revenge. Stefan saved Mystic falls. Klaus saved his family and New orleans from the hollow.

If they wanted to ease Nina's work, they could have been fine with the first one, I think. And I admit that I like Steroline XD

@@clips9457 Agree with you here but she did have a sort of redemption at her first death. She was in peace. I wish the writers stayed with that. The plot when she was in Elena's body is coherent with her character even if I didn't like it. But in season 8 while I wasn't expecting a good ending for her, the writers were disrespectfull to her character by treating her like she was so easy to stop. Katherine was a legend and yet she was stabbed during the entire final when she was queen of hell. They forgot the complexity of her character too. So it made me miss her first death in season 5. But otherwise I agree that she didn't deserve a happy ending in the end
