May sound crazy, but this video (out of all I’ve seen thus far on this topic) has given me the courage to admit that I have postpartum depression. Thank you to this father for sharing his experience. I now can/feel the need to express my feelings of postpartum depression not just to anyone, but most importantly my wife. I’ve been hiding these extreme thoughts/feelings going on almost 2 years - definitely not fair to anyone including my myself.

This happened with me and my son. My family told me to suck it up, be a man and pray to Jesus. Smh Didn’t work. What did work was going to a doctor and getting meds to help. Everything changed after that. I love my son more then anything now:)

It’s not often talked about, but it’s important. I wonder if men would acknowledge it and try to work through it with their spouses, so the family don’t have to go through the unnecessary troubles.

Hello, the organization (Postpartum Support International) that produced this video, has resources for fathers on their website at www.postpartum.net/get-help/resources-for-fathers/dads-mental-health/. They have a service called DADS Chat with an Expert where you can call for information, support, and connect with other dads. You can also call their helpline at 1-800-944-4773 or text them at 503-894-9453. The will listen, answer questions, offer encouragement, and connect you with local resources as needed.

I would say man too give your hobbies a try . To not let these thoughts consume you . I am also experiencing this it is getting better . Seek help and reach out to therapist for exercises . Don’t give up man because there’s better days . I recently started doing stretches as I had left my exercising close to none .

You said any help, so I will impart to you my recommendation: fasting. Fasting from food and water and most importantly prayer. What most people don't understand is that we have a spiritual being that is most often neglected. Most issues in our world today stem from a spiritual warfare that is going on in a realm that we cannot see. If you choose to do as I recommend, you will have to determine the longevity and the intensity at which you fast. It can be for 18 hours a day, no food, no water, for 7 days, as I am currently doing. Or something that you feel is suitable for you. I would recommend that you do a few small fasts to get your body ready. My mother suffered from a deep and dark depression many many years ago. Someone came to her in a dream and told her, "if you do not fast and pray, you won't ever get out of this." Out of desperation, she fasted for three days, abstaining from all food and water. Yahuah is a healer. But He requires you to give some to Him first before He is willing to give all to you. I would recommend you get a Bible and start from the beginning (Genesis). Also meditate on the words of King David by reading the Psalms. You may not understand everything, but simply read and absorb the Word. When you pray, cry out to Yahuah (YHWH) and ask that He deliver you from the stronghold. Confess and repent (turn away) from any inequity in your heart and ask for forgiveness. Talk to Him and tell Him what you are thankful for and what changes you desire to see in your life. Do this through out the course of your fast even when you are working. You can work and pray at the same time. I can guarantee you that if you do as I recommend, you will be delivered from the depression completely. It's only a matter of how much you desire to see an end to your depression. Most people will make you believe that these things are incurable. But that is not true. You can be restored and healed from any mental and physical illness that may be plaguing your mind and body. You don't have to live on medications or barely keeping your head above the water. I want to make a disclaimer that I am not a physician and am simply imparting information from personal experience. Do what is best for your lifestyle and your health at your own discretion. If you have any questions, please feel free to respond to me here. Proverbs 3: 5-6 Trust in Yahuah with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.
