That meme is hella misleading though, i read the short story expecting some custodes-on-guardsman level of stomp. Instead i found that Corax won but his face was as bruised as Lorgar's ego. It might actually have been a closer fight than Isvaan.

I believe it's a reference to their first fight, but then again he is fighting a Daemon Primarch, on his turf INSIDE the warp. I'd say he did pretty well, considering Lorgar might be the 2nd most gifted son with the warp behind Magnus.

I like this take a lot because it means there's a way for the loyalist primarchs to be on the same level as the traitors-- as well as implying that the Warp is more than just woo scary Eldritch horror bullshit. The Warp is neutral, Big E figured that out and that's how he created his sons without having to deal with the chaos gods.

Ill say it Everytime it comes up. Its an illusion, he's not Daemon. In the story he attacks with ravens but they are torn apart like they are stuck with lighting claws... Hes just making the Word-bearer marines "see" a flock of ravens, when in fact it's just him confusing and terrifying his foes. His father uses the same gift to manipulate those who look upon him, Corax is doing the same. The slaves looked and saw not a Daemon of the Warp, but a savior with pale skin and dark eyes.

Yeah. Cprvus is the only primarch that can see through the emperor's illusion. His primarch abikity is to influence how others perceive him to become unnoticable. Its likely he discovered how to master his primarch abilities of illusion to the emperor's level.

*Technically,* he could still be Warp-tainted/mutated and not be a "Daemon Primarch." Corvus hasn't had some Chaos Ritual or been rezzed by a Warp Deity, so he probably doesn't count as a "Daemon," anyways.

@@thebighurt2495 The Revelation in the book Corax: Soul-forge is that the Emperor used knowledge of the Warp to create the Primarchs. Nathraken Librarian Sorcerer of The Word-bearers legion espoused this... It shook Corvus but he still defeated him, killing him multiple times before throwing his corpse into a warp portal the sorcerer was attached to. So Corax broke upon learning that his promise "I'll kill every last warp spawned monster in the galaxy" included his brothers. That's why he hunts within the Warp for his Traitor kin.

@@codysing1223 i dont agree with your interpretstion fully. There are already loyalist primarch daemons like the sanguinor. Just because corvax understands his warp nature doesnt mean he doesnt have a human form though, importantly. But in this instant its pretty clear Corvax was in a human form at least partially.

the best part about this is Lorgar is just so confident going into this fight, and then proceeds to lose even harder than he did on Istvaan 3. It took an entire elite platoon of Word Bearers using bolters and plasma weapons, along with desperate sorcery on Lorgar's part, to drive Corvus back enough for them to escape. Corvus walked away with a black eye and a slightly bent jetpack. Lorgar was eviscerated and limped to his tower.

The problem with this is that Corvus realised that primarchs are likely remnants of other gods given form. They don't belong to Chaos gods any more then Warp itself... and then we see Lorgar continue to still kneel to his equals as if he has some serious submission kink.

somehow I imagine them giving themselves to chaos weakened their forms before they were forced into humanoid bodies. The chaos gods took their power they once had but do not remember and were unable to utilize constrained to their physical bodies.

It’s funny how despite all lorgar learned about chaos he still barely understands the warp and its denizens, it could be argued that the necrons were a bigger part of the primarchs creation than chaos ever was.

It's hard to believe GW green lit such a vivid portrayal of a lost primarch in the 40k era. I would've expected they would want more obfuscation except for the then returned Guiliman when this was written.
