When you have a subtool you want to duplicate many times, a quick way to do it is use the Gizmo, press Ctrl and use the move arrow; so you will duplicate the subtool... If that was you asking for... Sorry my English

Is it possible to share where you got the simple and high detail braid brushes? Or did you make them yourself?

oh so I thought they were replacing the simple braid with a high res braid but I see now that they just used a simple braid as a base, grouped it by UV so all the loops became polygroups, then used 'frame mesh' to generate new curves on top of the simple braids and then applied a high detail single strand hair IMM curve brush onto those curves. neat.

I have no idea about most of it but am utterly impressed, I can make a simple braid curve brush but how does he add the finer curves to the braids?

I think he used the curve brush as a reference and then replaced it manually with the other detailed hair

Yes think you are right, the speed makes it hard to follow, tried pausing going back just a bit it goes way back it’s so fast

you could also unrwap each braid submesh with UV master, lay them out in straight lines, then apply a stripes displacement with the noise maker plugin using UVs (if you don't want to make a high-res curve brush)

a bit late perhaps, but it's the frame mesh option. it creates curves between polygroups. thats why he(she used polygroup by normal before

This is really good use of tools and defnitely you can achieve unbelieveable results by kind of cheating with custom brushes. But on the otherside how good are you really doing actually manual Sculpting ? I think That's the thing you get used to these tools and then you complettly forget about what real sculptors deal with when using real physical Clay. They definitley achieve stunning results and everything with manual work. My point is you learn how to use this ready tools but you don't practise , you don't gain manual sculpting skills....
