She went through a full transformation. And it was a step by step thing. I think they did a great job showing the good / shy Daenerys transformation into a full Mad Queen.

@@elpublicador I don't think Daenerys was mad. Anymore than Stalin or Mao were mad. They had their own view of what the world should be like, and they were willing to do anything to achieve that and survive. Ruthless, cruel, evil. Modern day Putin, Assad and others of tgeir kind. The irony is that Daenerys wasn't willing to take/spend lives ruthlessly at the beginning. Yes, she killed people when it suited her. But not all, not everytime. Through the seasons, she becomes more and more ruthless. The deaths of her dragon Viserion, Jorah Mormont, and Missandei push her to this point. Cersei, Varys and Tyrion'sbetrayals also contribute. But her desire to rule by terror makes a certain sense after you study Stalin's regime or Assad in Syria.
