It's a barely believable story. That of a female brigade of Daesh who BITE to enforce the laws of the Islamic State!
It's a terrible story. That of a female brigade which operates in the territories occupied by Daesh. These women bite to enforce the laws of the Islamic State! A bare hand, visible makeup, misplaced fabric... the slightest deviation is immediately punished with a bite.
Camille Courcy, a young journalist, had been covering the battle of Mosul for months when she heard about these women for the first time: those we call the “biters”. Members of the Hisbah, the religious police of Daesh, they are privileged women, often married to fighters.
How many are they? What is the number of victims? Why this procedure? Intrigued, Camille went to investigate this story that no one talks about.
From refugee camps to Iraqi prisons, she gradually discovers the extent of the phenomenon but above all the mystery that surrounds these women. The investigation turns out to be much more difficult than she could have imagined, because talking about Arab women in Iraq is taboo!
