Telle une Circé des temps modernes, la chanteuse franco-grecque Dafné Kritharas envoûte les festivaliers-randonneurs de Cosmo Jazz. Un concert entre jazz et influences ottomanes.
Née en Crète d’un père grec et d’une mère française, Dafné Kritharas porte en elle tous les contrastes du bassin méditerranéen et des Balkans. Sa musique est en cela riche d’influences : grecques bien sûr mais aussi turques, judéo-espagnoles, bosniaques, arméniennes… Un héritage plein de couleurs et de textures, que la musicienne réhausse de sonorités empruntées au jazz et au folk et met au service de paroles chantant la joie, le manque, l’exil...
Ce saisissant mélange des genres a donné naissance aux albums "Djoyas De Mar" (2018) et "Varka" (2021). Ces deux projets ont été créés en collaboration avec des musiciens aux origines diverses, architectes d’une tour de Babel musicale.
Pour son concert à Cosmo Jazz, Dafné Kritharas est entourée de Lina Belaid au violoncelle et de Paul Barreyre à la guitare et au chant. Les trois musiciens exercent leur art depuis l’alpage de Loriaz, à 2020 mètres d’altitude. Un cadre enchanteur offrant une vue à couper le souffle sur le massif du Mont-Blanc et l’un de ses plus célèbres sommets : l’Aiguille Verte.

I follow Dafne from Sevdalinka songs since last year. A clear voice, a beautiful woman. I feel peace when I see her performance. Also as a Turkish these are very familiar melodies to us, touching our hearts. Selam / Gia Sas / Salute Dafne!

Dafné Kritharas me remet en mémoire la très belle voix et les belles compositions d'Angélique Ionatos. Il y a comme une filiation musicale et poétique entre elles, sans parler de leur amour pour la terre et la culture grecques.

Totalmente fascinado por tu arte, Dafné..!!! Pocas veces disfruté de un recital en toda su extensión, como este tuyo, con la brillante compañía de Lina y Paul. Tu voz es sublime, maravillosa, su color, su afecto, su calidez y contundencia en temas duros, y luego la paz y dulzura en otros.... Abrazo afectuoso desde Argentina!! Ojalá algún día nos visites!! Je n’ai pas découvert Daphné sur KZfaq, mais en salle de concert, par abonnement à un théâtre qui propose des concerts tous les jeudis soir. Je prends tout, au hasard, et c’est comme ça que l’on fait des découvertes. !

Τι μου εκανες ρε Δαφνη... Ειμαι Ολλνδία στην ξενυτιά με τσι βαρβάρους και με το που ξεκίνησες να τραγουδάς και να λες την πατριδα μου έχασα και ελαψα, ανατρίχιασε όλο μου το κορμί, άρχισα να κλαίω και έμεινα με το στόμα μου ανοιχτό... Τι πόνο μπορούμε να βγάλουμε οι Έλληνες, τι ψυχή έχουμε... Έχω γνωρίσει άτομα από όλη σχεδόν την Ευρώπη, αυτον τον πόνο, ελάχιστοι μπορούνε να τον ενιώσουν... Σε περιμένουμε Κρήτη, συνέχισε να μας ταξιδεύεις με τσι μουσικές σου!!!

So schade, bedauernswert und traurig, dieser Kommentar zu einem Konzert, welches alles hat, um Menschen zu verbinden! Aufgezeichnet und mit allen musikbegeisterten Menschen geteilt durch einen Sender der existiert, um Menschen über sprachliche, ethnische, kulturelle … Unterschiede hinweg zusammen zu bringen und zu verbinden! Ein Sender, welcher Unterschiede nicht als Grenzen vermittelt, sondern als wundervolle, überraschende Bereicherungen! Solange Menschen Menschen anderer Länder und Kulturen „Barbaren“ nennen, solange wird es wohl keinen Frieden geben in dieser Welt. 😢

It is an ancient greek song from the black sea actually :) the cello is choses on purpose because it can do other things, like harmonies, many modes, that the kemençe can’t do, even though I agree, it is a splendid instrument ! Also, on France, they are unfortunatly too few kemençe players😢

The audience probably didn't hear it as well as we do. Good audio. Beautiful music. Too much sentimental chattering. Interesting to see there are performances at that place I know. Well not literally. I found this to be at chalets de Loriaz. Familiar backdrop for me as an Alpinist.

"too much sentimental chattering" x) you probably don't understand what she say so yes you eventually didn't like those moment when she speaks French but "sentimental chattering" is really rough for someone who doesn't understand (she is pretty good at telling story)

Yes the first song is a Pontic Greek song (Black Sea song), many songs share the same melodies in Turkish and in Greek, even in Armenian, in Ladino, because all these communities were leaving under the Ottoman Empire during 5 centuries :-)

It is a beautiful song written and composed by the talented Paul Barreyre (guitarist and singer). The name of the song is « Entre deux mers », it will be released in a few months, with cello and violin ❤
