I just ordered a light box. Are you using a lightbox to transfer the design to new paper or redrawing it?

Good to hear! I use a lightbox to transfer if i’m using watercolour paper. This will give you nice clean lines. Otherwise the tooth of the paper makes erasing pencil really difficult

Another good one. I just started using the inks that you use and for the life of me I can't get the colors to blend out. I will pull a line of color and then go in with my blend brush with water and the line doesn't blend out. It stays there in a hard form. Paints are brand new. I have decent brushes. I don't have any trouble with the black but the black I have is Aquafine and not liqutex. I used a little water, then I used a lot of water, but nothing I do will blend the line of color out. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Your vids have inspired me to work with this medium. Challenging but pleasing. Cheers.

Hey Rod, there could be 2 issues. 1 being the paper you’re using or 2 being the drying time and ink thickness. The paper should be watercolour paper, this will help with blending and dragging out the pigment, if thats not the case. Possibly you’re letting the pigment dry too much or not applying enough to your surface, it dries like acrylic paint not watercolour, so they wont reactivate. You need to blend them when they’re still wet Let me know if this help, otherwise hit me up on instrgram or FB messenger and i’ll see if i can help any other way

I found that sometimes if you lightly wet the area you are applying the colour it doesn’t dry quite as fast! This has helped me as I was learning to blend the colours! 😊

@@DaggetDesigns okay. The problem was the paper. I was using canson. I upgraded to arches and have much better results. Although I have the cold press which makes it almost impossible to achieve good lines when inking the design. I will switch to hot press. One question when you go in for blending out the color are you using minimal water or a lot? Some of my blends are good but when I use more water they fall apart and get streaky. Could be that I just need to put in more time . I've worked in many mediums over the decades but this is first run at watercolors. Very difficult. Takes crazy amounts of patience. Cheers.
