The Maricel Soriano has 5 MMFF Best Actress awards. Had Inang Yaya got accepted in MMFF in 2006, it could have been her 6th win. Nevertheless, I still believe Dahas should have been Maricel's 1st MMFF Best Actress triumph. If it were, The Maricel Soriano should have 7 MMFF Best Actress trophies already, tie with Nora Aunor, who has 8 actually, but would be 7 if Muling Umawit Ang Puso would be discredited as Nora's win in respect to Maricel's supposedly win for Dahas. At least, every time Maricel wins, NO QUESTIONS ASKED💎🌟 #HailToTheQueen

Hi Brian! I totally agree with you about Maricel's tour de force performance in Dahas. Nora was good in Muling Umawit ang Puso but it was Maricel who had an unforgettable performance that had a really strong impact. Like Nora, Maricel made use of her eyes effectively to display a gamut of emotions, at hindi basta bastang mga emosyon yun. Physically, mentally and emotionally draining ang role niya and she delivered 101%. I can only think of one reason why Nora was given the festival best actress award: she just won an international best actress award for Flor Contemplacion Story prior to the filmfest.

@@jondell5820 you're absolutely right! Plus Nora's godson, Jinggoy Estrada, was the Chair of the Board of Judges and the Festival itself. So alam na. I remember as shown on TV, Maricel went to meet Nora on the latter's way to the stage upon announcing her name as Best Actress. Maricel cordially greeted Nora to the admiration of everyone about Maricel's sincere gesture. However, Maricel's fans picketed outside PICC for this unfair result announced around midnight of December 28.

In a pre-taped "survey" conducted by one talk show which was shown the afternoon of the awards night, many showbiz personalities predicted Maricel to win for Dahas. So even her peers approved of her performance. The least the committee could have done was declare a tie. I didnt know nag rally pala fans ni Maricel hahaha. Sana sumali ako.

@@jondell5820 actually IT WAS A TIE! But, prior to awards night on December 27, Maricel said that she didn't welcome the idea of tie. It's either hers or Nora's. Well it was at the height of Maricel's like-it-or-not brutal honesty.

I watched this movie countless of times in a month up to the present and it blows me away. You must watch it more than once because the story is complex and deep. I give my respect and gratitude to the story writer and screen writer. Most of all, I give my admiration, respect and every superlative descriptions on the excellent award winning performances of Richard Gomez, Tonton Gutierrez & Maricel Soriano. By the way, Richard Gomez looks very handsome in this movie.

Nasa comment section yung nga taong nag papatunay na may may nga tao talaga na nag vi-victim blaming.
