Yes dowry is illegal and for girls and their parents searching a rich and settled boy for their daughter is completely legal. This is our useless society rule. For girls to marry a money oriented person is legal and for boys when they ask girls to give money is illegal. So why girls choose a rich and settled boy to marry and how they think the boy never take a single penny from girls parent and take care of her daughter for the whole life.

Guys should be ashamed of themselves. Where is personal achievement to get what you want. Dowry like this the same as begging. Also dowry does not belong to hubby or his family it rightfully belongs to the girl, its has been given to her as her safety net. Finally it is illegal to demand it. The boy and his family should be shown the door or arrested the minute they mention it. Never fulfil any demand, girls stand up and say no marriage if this is what they are like now I will never be happy
