Are those quotes for the dual motor foundation series? Hopefully, the regular dual motor in future will have lower ins rates.

These specific quotes are for a 2024 Model X dual motor. I would definitely still get multiple quotes for any vehicle TBH, including the Cybertruck if you are asking about that model.

I canceled the insurance 2 weeks in for my MX and swapped to Geico, cant seem to keep my safety score high enough to prevent a premium increase, which is weird since i use FSD 80% of my drives as they are highway drives. Most of my score has been dinged for following too closely.

The amount of times the system warned me for a breaking car 20+ car lengths ahead of me, was insane. So I had to turn that setting off. I can't imagine how awful that ends up rating people on their premium!

Tesla insurance is terrible. 1) customer service is aweful. 2) being monitored for late night drives, safe following, aggressive turns and breaking is stressful. 3) there are false positives for infractions. If you put 1), 2), 3) together it is not worth it. I changed to travelers and get to enjoy how well the tesla drives.

Excellent! The forced monitoring was a deal breaker for me as well (if the price was good, which it was not even remotely good for me).

@@DAHT correct. The price is not always the best. Btw. Don’t forget to get the wall connector. It’s probably one of the biggest benefits of getting a Tesla.

Can confirm. The false positives are real and the 'late night' after 10 pm is infuriating. Been on the Tesla insurance since my delivery in November, but will investigate moving back to Progressive, which I had on my previous car.

@@BoNajdrovsky It was the best decision to change for me. The car is really fun to drive, there is no need to put a leash on it. If you shop around you can find the same rate or lower.

most of those quotes are from higher risk driver carriers. if you have no accidents or points/tickets on your record check with other carriers.

Any recommendations where? Costco insurance is the best rate I found yet but in NY they make you pay the full 6 month premium up front.

That's not correct. Most carriers assess risk from all types of drivers. A more accurate way to say that is 2 of these carriers I mentioned in this episode, do focus on the non-preferred market... meaning poorly rated drivers are accepted, whereas they may be turned down with other carriers.

@@KrispysRC try to get quote from as many as you can online, and generally try to avoid any quote through agents.

@@DAHTI’ve done State Farm, Geico, Progressive, Farmers, Liberty and one other can’t remember. I have no points tickets or accidents and they are still trying to crush me.

@@KrispysRC yes, its rough out there with all carriers. Rates are sky high due to the cost of repairs and other factors. GEICO has been having issues in many other ways and here is an interesting stat... In 2023, GEICO had a net loss of over 1.6 million policies, yet STILL collected MORE in premiums in 2023 than they did in 2022. Once you feel you've done enough quotes, your only real choice at that point is to go with the lowest (or take Uber... haha jk).
