Im wondering if lipsticks can be used to locate pressure spot in complete dentures instead of using bossworth.

Its a beautiful video sir. The first tip you shared about lesser space in cast. I get opposite problem I prepare 1.5 to 2 mm occlusion clearence in patient. But after 2 step coltene president putty impression the clearence in cast comes out to be 2.5 mm. Which makes 0.5 mm high point crowns and bridges. Which need to be adjusted and then sent back to lab for finishing. Kindly solve this. I have been troubled by this for past 5 years in 10 years of practice. Tried to find solution but couldnt. Thanks in advance

Hello Dr Malik. The issue is more complex than we think. Firstly, since we are playing with microns , it is often difficult to judge how much space we have. To the human eye, 2mm and 2.5 mm would probably appear the same. The best way to avoid this is to use calibrated depth cutting burs where you know the exact amount of reduction you do since the burs are measured and calibrated. Secondly, the issue also lies in manual impressions, manual lab steps like die pouring and articulation,etc. Hence , the advent of digital technology today like intra oral scanners where you can actually see and measure on screen how much clearance you have created and also maintain the accuracy that we need...

Hi! Can anybody please explain why in tip no 2 you should use a round bur instead of a tapered fissure bur?
@chairsideeducation
@chairsideeducation 6 жыл бұрын
Using a tapered fissure bur would mean an increased risk of opening up the contact ..

Hi.. It basically makes easier to transfer the gap under the pontic to the lab so that the technician can add ceramic there and close it.!!
@2423625

modifying ceramic contact points with high speed airotor..please correct the technique to prevent the iatrogenic chipoff..
@chairsideeducation
@chairsideeducation 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your inputs doctor.!!Well chip off will happen if there are too many vibrations (faulty air rotor) or too much heat generation because of friction caused due to dry cutting.The heat will cause micro cracks which can result in chipping.So as long as your handpiece is fine,you are using water and you are not using undue force,you should be fine...

Hi doctor any tips for bridge or crown works how to fix abutment undercuts when doing try in its doesnt get in well easily beacuse of undercuts
@chairsideeducation
@chairsideeducation 6 жыл бұрын
Thats quite a common problem with multiple units. The best way to handle it is try not to have massive undercuts in the first place.!!! If you do end up having some, locate the undercuts on the intaglio surface of the abutments by using an indicator dye and try to remove them systematically.
