I don't look at story leaks for obvious reasons, but I feel like even banner leaks need to be taken with a massive, massive grain of salt. Obviously, save your wishes for that one character you love, but besides drip marketing confirming new characters, so many banners change all the time. Ganyu and Shenhe were re-running in Lantern Rite, until they weren't. Neuvillette was re-running with Furina, until he wasn't, I even remember Itto was going to re-run in 4.3, only to come 2 patches later. This makes it hard for new players, since they might look at the 30 videos that do leaks each day being told that one character they want is re-running, only for it not to happen until later.

i agree, light character leaks are fine but story leaks are incredibly unnecessary. In my eyes, it doesn't really help anyone.

Heres the thing… when quests drop, ppl who have all the time IMMEDIATELY talk about the only interesting things that happen in it, and within a few days every genshintuber talks about it, makes theories, put things in thumbnails, and make it completely IMPOSSIBLE to do any of this stupidly long quests without spoilers. So leaks, which you have to look for and thoroughly READ,,, are not a problem 😀 Also gameplay leaks are justice, screw waiting for them to advertise their characters with flattering video editing that doesnt give the right impression of the character.

I remember I saw leaks for the Five Kasen event quest 1 day before update like bro... I don't want to see this.

Unironically enough, I think story leaks, especially when they were posted as unreliable, or just generally without any video evidence, helped me to not lose my interest in this game. Did I know about 4.2 plot twist like two patches prior? Yes, but damn, never was I so hyped to see how it plays out. I think it also helped me not to get too much annoyed by Furina before her big moment, but that is also because of how long I was waiting for her since the first character model leaks, so I think I got attached to her that early. Genuinely thanks to the leaks subreddit for keeping me interested in Genshin. It is also a pretty entertaining community by itself, full of some wild sources and discussions. It was pretty funny watching how 4.5 leaks were getting more and more ridiculously boring for example
