Bought an 06 TrailBlazer SS for the wife when we had our first kid and it was an amazing daily driver. Just a few simple upgrades like a CAI, ECU tune and a mellow Magnaflow exhaust (wife's daily so nothing obnoxious) and it was a screamer. Drop springs in the front and air bags adjusted in the rear made for such a killer stance. Unfortunately had to upgrade in size when the next kid came along and needed the cash for the new whip. Wife's choice this time and a '13 Durango R/T was next. I still remember the pimple faced salesman after I took that turd for a test drive bragging about how great the hemi was. If you only knew what I gave up for more space and creature comforts kid, if you only knew. Miss that car and it's sleeper attack. Always hooked. Always worked. Always put a smile on my face. I'd take it to work instead of my CTS-V at the time and that's saying allot.

THIS makes me miss my trailblazer so bad...the looks I'd get from people after we ran were always priceless

I remember when the cowl hood came out for the TBSS, I really wanted one for my 08. Mine was RWD though.. Stock 4.10 gears, trick flow 225 heads, comp cam, built 4L70 with 3600 stall and normal bolt-ons and she ran 11.70 with a 1.36, 60'... Mine was in April 09 super Chevy magazine and held the record for fastest all motor for a year or two.. They have a ton of potential, just very top heavy.. Dig animals!!

If it hasn’t been on a dyno or hasn’t made some good passes to get numbers then whatever power it’s gained from mods is just guessing and likely well beyond reality. I’ve seen so many cars where they’ll claim 900+hp based on what the boxes the parts come in say. When in reality it’s basically stock power with a little extra noise added. He wasn’t even catching up from half track. Compared to something that’s actually working and putting out at least what is claimed.

Had an 06 2wd SS and besides it throwing the rod bearings and transmission it was fun lol. Things are kinda turds but fun turds. Funny thing is now I have a 18 hellcat

In 2019 my bff decided he wanted a RWD TBSS but quickly learned neither one of us could afford one he wanted to do a turbo street strip build so I found a 2007 gmc envoy with a blown motor and he fell in love he ended up paying 900 bucks and the black paint and interior was absolutely mint! I had a 2004 ls1 block from a 04 GTO I have my buddy a deal on it, he wanted a street/strip build but when I’m involved things get out of hand lol the short block was machined I think they took it like .05 over basically just cleaned up the bores from sitting as long as it did in a trash bag covered in wd40 for almost 2 years in my shed, it ended up getting some nice stuff inside I’ve had really good luck with summit ls pro rods,pistons and cranks so it got rods and pistons good bearings arp stuff where it was needed, stock 5.3 crank lots of o.e parts like the timing chain and ls7 lifters and what not very simple build, BTR turbo cam and valve springs and trunion kit on some random stock rockers I had in a box I think the push rods may have came from btr but it ended up with a set of PRC cnc ported factory 706 head castings with some budget Manley valves idk why people hate the 706 heads especially with boost, we where able to come up with a TBSS intake a eBay 90mm cable style throttle body it’s worked for almost 2 years, it’s got a set of 210# Bosch injectors from me his lame ass wanted to run cheap deal 80#’ers to be fair this was his first build that made more than 592whps, it’s on a Holley terminator it’s got 2 street tunes the only difference is fuel and a little timing this was the first time so one street tune is for pump e85 (first time I’ve ran a flex fuel setup or tuned with one) it’s got a 5 pound springs in the waste gates but if the ethanol content is above 65% the Holley will spice it up a little bit but the the other tune is for pump 93 with no timing just a pretty safe he tries to run E as much as possible because that little ls1 is in the 11 to 1 compression area any time he actually runs the truck or turns it up to fuck with people he runs ignite red E90 definitely my favorite ethanol fuel not quite as good as VP’s c85 but almost and basically cost half of what the VP DOES! He does a lot of fab work so it’s a custom stainless hot side and aluminum cold side it has a old Precision air to water intercooler under the dash on the passenger side the intake is mounted backwards putting the throttle body facing the fire wall so there’s not a ton of piping on the cold side he’s running a Vs racing billet wheel S485 with a 1.15 t6 exhaust a.r with a titanium a 6” hood exit exhaust everything he used to make it came from TIS fab it’s 5” off the turbo and kinda starts makin a megaphone shape in the last 3”of the exhaust and it’s angle cut to match the hood contour he did a damn good job. It’s got a pretty nice factory case th400 with a bad ass PTC converter he does have a scatter blanket on the bellhousing tho it’s got a heavy ass custom fleet pride drive shaft fleet pride makes 18 wheeler shit lol I do kno it has a stock trailblazer ss rear end with 3.90 gear and rebuilt limited slip. It actually turned out really nice he really took his time to make everything have as close to perfect fit and finish and actually work without being scared it’s gonna break any minute. I don’t kno the exact number he ended up spending but he definitely could have bought a decent Trailblazer SS But it wouldn’t be as unique or capable of making 1000+whp !! I kno it weighs less than 5000 maybe 4600-4800 it’s got all off the shelf suspension parts to I think it just has Viking double adjustable shocks adjustable upper and lower control arms and a 2” front and 4” rear drop and a 5 lug conversion up front from 1320wheels.com wich was kind of a bitch terrible instructions no customer service and got sent the wrong rotors the first time. It’s got Weld gloss black 17” alumastars up front and some six lug single beadlock Weld RTS 15x10 with set of 285/60r15 Hoosiers version of M/T et street drag radials (the OG m/t radial) for street duty I think it’s been a best 5.87 @ 119mph in July 2021 but it had a lot more in it this is when we where running the drag radial at the track since then we swapped over to some Hoosier 28x10.5w slicks i know more about racing and tuning on slicks than radials so far according to the Draggy it’s been 6.20’s on a street we race on that has a rubber base on it we will find out soon I think it’s gonna run mid 5.70’s our local track is having its first big race of the year that has a full size truck/suv with a 4500 pound minimum weight we plan on winning that 1500 dollars lmao on instagram I got several vids of him murdering a couple hellcats a new zo6 a couple supercharged coyote stangs a bad ass CTS V that my buddy got lucky and beat. It’s definitely fun and has been pretty damn reliable im gonna say that and it’s gonna kick a rod out the block tomorrow LMFAO

I daily a '09 trailblazer ss. It has a ported LSA blower, hp tuners, long tubes (rural Nevada) cats deleted and a b&m converter. Its my 29th vehicle and definitely my 2nd favorite car ive ever owned. The thing makes 500 (487) wheel on pump gas with full interior and it runs 12s. I take it snowboarding. It hauls a enclosed trailer full of dirt bikes all summer then full of snowmobiles all winter. The winter loadout weighs 4600 pounds and its bone stock suspension with normal trailblazer springs shox and struts so its not low it has 32s on it. Its the all purpose vehicle of the family. I fuckin LOVE my trailblazer man. Its crawled inside my soul like my '98 mustang gt it has this personality and i just adore the way it drives. My mustang is baaaaad too. Completely forged and built 2v 4.6 with trick flow heads and cams, 88mm borg, 2 44mm turbosmart gates, on hp tuners. That thing makes 1200 wheel on c16 just chillin. 18 psi, 75% duty cycle with the 1500cc injectors. Its so nasty man. Plus its NOT a drag car. The chassis is built for road racing to put it in short terms. Everyone in Carson city nevada that drives an evo or sti has been embarrassed by it. Its always THOSE dudes that talk all the shit about mustangs too. I beat this little cutie in a VIIImr and she says, "THATS a mustang. Never had my ass drug like that by a car knocking the tires off as im grabbing 4th." I got her. We're getting married in August. After what she said i just asked if she had a boyfriend. She said no so i was like, sup....
