teklovossen into Fai is the biggest non matchup LSS have released. it is over 90% Fai favoured

So I’ve heard! One of my locals swears that it’s possible to win, but I haven’t had the chance to test it with him.

at 10:10 you mention how the activation of teklo and upgrading an evo works but that was incorrect. The action of transforming and equipping actively puts the equipment back into the equipment position in the arena removing it from the chain.

The way Teklo should have activated was once the phoenix flame was blocked, either during the resolution step after damage or in response to the next attack you played. Then the phoenix flame would be fully blocked and the head piece would be fresh and able to block the next attack.

@@Lupinefiasco yeah it's a lot of value and why it's pretty decent for them to run the blade break armor into Fai an extra blue and they can get a ton of blocking value. They need to do it in the resolution step is the likely best way to word it otherwise it's kinda weird on timing and priority

@@Lupinefiasco It's not that scary. You're removing ~ 9 block value from your hand to get 6 back (new armour and drawn card) so its also 2 chains worth of block as opposed to 3 if you just block with cards in hand. Maybe its ok if you can get away with it at higher life totals, but as Fai if you see Voss do that then you know the rest of your turn is free and MoM triggers are almost guaranteed.

Heyo Lupinefiasco, I have recently started playing FaB and I'm planning on building a Fai deck (I really like your gameplay videos btw, keep it up!). The thing is that my LGS have just picked up FaB as well, so we're gonna start playing the Commoner format. I think you might not be able to answer but I'm gonna ask anyway, just in case: how do you think Fai fares in Commoner? And do you have a Commoner list that plays similar to your usual CC list? If not, do you have any suggestions on how to adapt it to Commoner? I really like your list playstyle and I wanna mimic this list at my LGS. Thx!

Hey there! My local scene doesn’t support Commoner for now (which is a shame because I think the format is very cool!), but this is a list I’ve toyed around with: fabrary.net/decks/01GZY9KPRJZG4GEBV0G6PMJQQ1 Do you have access to the Round the Table Ninja cards? Bittering Thorns is an easy swap for Dust Runner Outlaw, and the new mask seems better than Hope Merchant’s Hood. I’m sorry that I don’t have more info for you!

Some other things: I really like Breaking Point and Snatch, do you think it's not good for Commoner Fai? I think it's very useful to throw some disruption (mainly in aggro matchups), because there's no Mask trigger to force blocks. And what does Mask of Many Faces do in your commoner list? Does giving a name to a card gives it its properties (e.g. naming a draconic card makes a random card draconic)?

@@lipbyakko Breaking Point is hard to fit into Emberblade lists because you can't get to the Rupture with a 2-card hand (like you can in Kodachi). It's a good card, but I'm nervous to include it. MoMF is there to as an additional point of block for matchups that need it. It has text, which makes it slightly better than Ironrot.

I see, that seems reasonable. Do you happen to have a Kodachi variant for commoner? If not, would this list still play okay with the Kodachis in the sideboard (mainly for Dromai I think)?

At 12:35 It makes me feel better knowing that even the Fai Guy himself forgets to activate Fai for a free Phoenix Flame. I do this way too often as a new player, and sometimes that 2 damage would win a game for me 😂

Sometimes we just get sloppy 🤷‍♂ It's a lot easier for me to track Draconic links in paper!

As long as the Teklovossoen became an iron man ,it’s unable to resist.Maybe the most aggressive Fai can also take the game before deck out.

Maybe tuned Teklovossen lists will be fast enough to resolve a Singularity before Fai ends the game. I'm curious to know if it's a winnable matchup for Teklo, because he seems heavily unfavored right now.

@@Lupinefiasco he put lots of the Teklo base equipment in his deck and some heavy boost to deal damage and boost his equipment. As long as he equipped 2 or more Teklo equipment with three block value ,it’s hard to get through his defense. That‘s my experience when I face him last time.

@@Lupinefiasco Voss is 100% unfavoured into Fai. It's a super rough match up. we cant boost and out race and we can't fatigue because fai just pushes hideous amounts of damage.
