I´m an old fart from Finland. This is it, as I remember my youth when we stayed winter holidays at my grandparent´ s when our family lived in Helsinki. Grans lived their lives in the northern side of Finland. That cosy home in the middle of nowhere was a place we children enjoyed every time, no matter winter or summer. Now old, living slow, I really understand that our childhood there gave us children the real power to get trough anything came our way. Nobody said us, you cant do that, if we wanted to try smth. new, they trusted us. Our granpa said back then "never trust russia" , and I´m very sad that it´s relevant even today . 2023 was an extremely difficult year for me, as there is an ongoing war in my country and my father is defending our borders. There was not a single day when we weren't worried or feeling sad. My young son and I had to leave our home and move to another country, so the past year was a year of trials for my family. Your videos bring me peace and I feel relaxed, even if just sometimes. Also, last year I became interested in photography and video shooting. I learned to whistle with my hands like Joanna in the video, which really amuses me. As I sit here watching you from a cattle ranch on Montana, where it's -22, I feel the cold with you! My dog is also older and moving slower in the cold. I also wonder how the homesteaders before us survived in their shacks, shantys and sod houses just a hundred years ago. And also grateful for indoor plumbing and central heating. I live in mid California and have lived alone since my wonderful husband passed away due to ALS-Lou Gehrig’s disease in 2018. The years that have passed were quiet and uneventful but no losses. That is until 2023!! Last year started with the passing of a brother-in-law in his late fifties in January. This was to be the beginning of what was a sad heartbreaking year. The months that followed brought the most saddest of times. I lost 2 aunts and an uncle in Feb, May and December. Then thru out the year brought the loss of 4 cousins and the passing of my younger brother at 62 years old. 2023 was Hell!! All I could think and ask God for that 2024 bring back the love and happiness that was taken away from us all. Blessings to you, family and your followers in 2024.

for me personally, 2023 was, for the most part, a pretty good year! i finished my abitur (pretty much the permission to study in germany) in summer and started to study germanistics in october. although at this time around, i had to deal with a broken heart (ah, these sweet sweet situationships), right now i feel really good! yes it took some weeks to get over it but with much support and love, it was possible

This summer, my father battled a horrible illness and died, and there were stressful moments. Anxiety and sadness was indescribable, but your videos was here for me, and you give me a couples of minutes of peace. Dearest Jonna, we love you all so much ! 2023 was probably the worst year of my life. I got bullied very badly by a lady at our office, to the point that I wanted to leave the planet. I am a very happy, optimistic person and have never, ever felt like this in my life. Plus my husband died twice during a brain seizure, and was thankfully brought back. My beautiful late father, John, always said “I waited for someone to do something, till I realised I am someone”….it gave me the strength to leave the toxic workplace I had been in for 14 years and break free. I am now in a lovely, nurturing office with beautiful people who care about each other and are very respectful. 2024 has a very different energy, much more positive and hopeful. Dear Nanook - he really is the most beautiful soul. I love him very much. I find the frailties of age very hard. Especially with our family and our beloved creatures. We were in Sweden, last Christmas. With my friend, my daughter and her partner and my mother from 87-years old. To visit my brother and his family, who live in Sweden for 17 years now (Ramsberg, Orebro-landet) it was so so amazing, the snow, the cold, the sky… everything. We rented a beautiful house in the small village of Dammen. And i was thinking about you often, i felt the same enthousiasm. This Summer we will return❤

2023 was definitely a year of recovery for us. We had spent most of 2022 homeless (we have 3 autistic kids in their late teens) and searching for somewhere to live. We eventually found a home in the October, so 2023 was spent processing all of that! 2024 is going to be the year of getting shit done! Have made a great start - decorated the living room in January and am nearly finished restoring my 1950’s kitchen unit that I use for fabric and sewing supplies ❤

I've spent this year in my grief with restless and obsessive thoughts running thru my mind like a broken record. I found your channel during the pandemic and in a very difficult time. I found you hopeful in my thoughts of humanity. I find you honest and down to earth through the screen. I introduced your videos to my daughter, and we'd lay side by side watching them sometimes. 2023 for me was a tearing apart. I experienced several humbling health issues, and then my father ended up getting sick and what I wish for 2024 for the whole world is just a bit of ease, and not so much challenge and growing and lessons. I love these cold winters, something we rarely get now in Scotland. Growing up as a child it was common occurance for our water supply to freeze for weeks resulting in us helping our parents break ice holes in the nearby burn and fetching buckets of water to bring home. Hard rewarding work of keeping warm but the rewards of the lovely clear cold air and light was beautiful. Lovely video thank you ❤

My life is the complete opposite of yours. All my dreams remain in the limbo of my mind. Now worse than ever, without work and surviving together with my 80-year-old mother. I got divorced, the children are now independent. I studied Gestalt therapy and I love listening to people and facilitating their transitions through difficult times. Here in Spain it is not an official training. At 55 years old my dreams begin to die. Seeing and hearing you, you are hope for me. 2023 made me feel that life is no life without being healthy. In the middle of the year I became ill suddenly and unexpected and no doc found out my illness. I was a fit healthy person in the middle 30s before but one day nothing was like before. 2023 I had so much pain every day and there were nobody who helps me to get well. I was never properly examined because the doctors said I was too young to be ill. That was horror. I never felt such a fear in my life and I never felt so lost. For 2024 I only want to get my health back and I'm sending love, luck and strength to all people out there who struggling with health issues ❤
