Last year I spent 2 and a half months in Norway in Dreamvalley with Tina and her horses. Tina is an norwegian artist, who assigned her life to nature and her 9 horses. Her farm in the middle of the rondane mountains is her relational artwork. Dreamvalley is a really good place to take some time for yourself and to get yourself a break from the busy life in civilization. Life there there is pretty much down to the basics and there is a lot of farmwork which has to be done every day, but the beauty of the nature, the horses, different little adventures and challenges every day make it worth it.
Since 2017 Dreamvalley is under the patronage of academia liberti: Tina keeps the horses outdoors all year round and looks for ways to provide them with living conditions as close as possible to the specific needs of the species.
Her dream is to develop a true and deep friendship with horses, so all activities are based on free will. She lives with her horses after the philosophy “Being with Horses” of Sabine and Dan Birmann, which is about perception and communication in order to develop a refined feeling for the personality of each horse and to understand its language. Mutual respect without the use of dominance and pressure is what makes it possible to have a two-way dialogue with the horse.
