In an interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour, comedian Trevor Noah says that to compare writing jokes between the Obama and Trump administrations would be "madness."

A sad but true commentary on America. Too many people aren't intelligent enough to understand stuff like this on the first time around, so most of them ignore it. Democracy is dangerous when the masses lack the IQ to understand nuance. It makes them ripe for manipulation and brainwashing. 350 million people are not smarter than one. And then you end up with what we have now: an oligarchy operating under the guise of democracy. Hopefully the conspiratorial trends and the wilful ignorance that's going around is just a fad. If people don't stop shunning education, science, and experts, we really will end up living in the movie "Idiocracy." Every time I go on the internet I can't escape the feeling that we are already half way there.

realchimera Well let's look at Trump's growing love of China. First, China is raping out country. Then Trump met with them and the daughter he wants to date get a great deal with China to have her "brand clothing line" manufactured at a big discount. Then a year of ups & downs. All of a sudden China "loans" half-billion dollars to an Indonesian project that will build a "Trump" brand golf coarse and hotels with a amusement park. Less than 72 hours later Trump, who will financial profit from this agrees to help bailout a Chinese-government-owned cellphone maker. He gave the following statement “President Xi of China, and I, are working together to give massive Chinese phone company, ZTE, a way to get back into business, fast,” “Too many jobs in China lost have been lost" What happened to MAGA??? Days later Trump pulls out of North Korean summit without warning to North Korea, South Korea or Japan who have been working to set up the summit. WHY??? Because China doesn't want a peace treaty between North & South Korea. My point is not "Make America Great Again" it's called "Make Trump Richer"

Trevor Noah handled that interview so gracefully. The interviewers 'surprise' that black people at the Royal wedding was harmonious, to which Noah just calmly replied, "what do 'people' expect, the black people are going to arrive late?", a dig at her question, and she didn't even seem to know. Then her reference to "black culture" as if all black people in the world have one culture, then Noah a few sentences later points out gently that black people are also diverse. He is a pro. Many people would burst out angrily at her subtle racism...

Should you have to speak like a Texan trump supporter with a third grade education? Guess what since the establishment of the nation that is America, all who have first arrived here had accents. Funny how that’s true isn’t it?
@pieandkokopelli1984 жыл бұрын
I think it's even funnier that the people who say "go back to your country" and "this is America, speak English" can barely write or speak at a middle-school level. Mere accents don't belie intelligence nor a basic grasp on political culture.
@estebanmolina64564 жыл бұрын
pieandkokopelli198 I don’t think anybody said anything remotely close to what u just did. Simply pointing out the irony of how people who r clearly not from America (based on their accents) r EXPERTS in American culture and politics. That’s all. Please hold the outrage.
@pieandkokopelli1984 жыл бұрын
@@estebanmolina6456 If you read outrage in writing, you might be projecting your own emotions onto it. I assumed you were pointing out the interesting fact of people with accents having extensive knowledge of American politics and shared the equal irony of some "American" people barely being able to speak the primary language of the country they push on others. Both pose interesting cases that seem to be present only in America or English-speaking countries. The second sentence was an add-on confirming that, although interesting, accents don't mean they don't know anything about the subject. If your comment actually a snide one purporting that an accent would indeed detract from knowledge in political matters, it would make sense that you see an equal amount of snide (or I suppose, "outrage") in my response. Aren't you the one being "outraged" by what you believe to be a rebuttal from the opposite side then?

redrock1963 So you believe everything you hear? Look at what the parties goals are and how they are achieving it then see what side you take, just dont believe someone because they sound "smart" thats a huge mistake
@redrock19636 жыл бұрын
Blind Tactical Option 12375 - 1st thing. " Look at what the parties goals are" . The value of someone's goals are subjective. IMHO, universal goods that allow ALL sectors of a society to grow, flourish and repair (when needed) are of high value and so goals should be set to enhance those outcomes. 2nd thing. "and how they are achieving it". I'm not sure which "party" you are referring to as a positive example but, again IMHO, I don't have confidence in either side seeking effective pathways to achieving their goals. 3rd thing. My statement was that I see (IMHO) Noah "is an intelligent man" not a "smart" man. This may be only semantics to some but there is a big difference between the two. I said he was intelligent because of his deductive reasoning, his insights and observations and the language he used to express himself. 4th thing. Your assumption of me "So you believe everything you hear?" - Is this a rhetorical question??
@chango69966 жыл бұрын
Im not telling you what you should believe you can be left, right or other as long as you know your side. People are not perfect so parties aren't perfect either, he might sound smart but he thinks that when Obama was president America was the land of gold now that Trump is president he now argues that America is going to hell, but if you still want youre rights then you best look at what they are willing to sacrifice. To give an example on how bad it is i was going to make a joke in text and the joke involved a gun look on how the left controls it 🔫, that is anti gun, they are involving politics in things that have nothing to do with it. Limiting my speech if you will

He’s very intelligent. You could tell by just listening to him talk like this or the behind the scenes on his show when they take a break. I am sure you’d also enjoy his book, Born a Crime. If you listen to the book on Audible, he narrates it himself, which is awesome.

Thanks why I'm a fan of Trevor Noah because he's funny, smart, sensible and in this interview he knows what he's saying and he seems fair to all colors of people and most of all just seems like a down to earth kinda guy. 😊👍👍

He’s speaking such a profound truth, the belief in supremacy so deeply imbedded in the majority, and is never dealt with and therefore is never overcome. But it is blatantly on display during hard times.

Dave Schultz when it comes to Trevor Noah, he has complained about South Africa. He even wrote a book about his life and how being born mixed was a crime there (Born a Crime). He has also complimented the country by saying how more women are running for office, more youth is getting involved in politics, which is something so many people have said for many years should happen. Also, in this video he was speaking a bit about South Africa too. He was talking about Brexit and referencing UK corporations like Cambridge Analytica and how bad they are. I think he even spent more time on Teresa May, and blaming them for what all is happening in the world today. If you see that all they are doing is putting America down, then you didn't listen. If you are not listening to anything other than this video, then you don't know how much Trevor Noah has spoken about how bad things are all over, especially where he's from. Also, if you don't like the rest of the world judging America, then America should stop judging other countries. Trump has run down so many other countries, well, nearly every single country on the planet. If a president can do it, why would you even give a crap about a comedian from another country insulting America? Are you such a snowflake that you cannot handle a bit of criticism? Thank goodness you don't work for me because part of my job is to criticize. This is partially how people realize there is a problem and often times it takes outsiders to show you how things should be. Don't be so triggered and actually listen beyond the words you want to hear.

Joseph Mingle, I would like for you to please explain what you mean by Trevor Noah being a "scamster". I would also like to know what you mean by saying he's "one of them", like all of us should know what he is. Lastly, whatever you call him, whatever you say about him, what is your proof of it? It's one thing to call someone names and imply other things as we all have the freedom of speech, but if you want to sway minds, you aren't going to if all you do is call people names, or use them in some kind of sinister sentence which implies he's something of great importance, which could lead to something dangerous.
Illustrious son of Africa thank you for speaking the truth without fear or favor

fear what?everybody saying bad towards trump and they just living fine.
@desmondsamuel6506 жыл бұрын
Chen Jacob Saying what Trump is doing e.g. spreading hate towards people oppose to his ideas is not saying bad. He supporting and abetting racism e.g. the Charlottesville incident isn't saying bad against him. People living just fine isn't because of Trump rather it's a continuation of the Obama policy he inherited. Nothing Trump has done to influence the living standards of the masses rather his policies are towards the rich getting richer. The poor struggle to live just fine.

As a Canadian we invited immigrants in the 1960's from former British Colonies - like the West-Indian's Islands, India, Pakistan and African countries and as an immigrant myself coming from Germany; it changed Canada for the rest of our lives. It was so much better than ever before. Canada experienced a new identity and multiculturalism. Now, we have in Toronto a change of cultures and immigration, right now we have 51.6 % of the population of Toronto are visible minorities. And that is the difference and that I, as German immigrant, I really like about our city and about our country. We still have racism in our country - especially against the indigenous people - but I hope we can fight it and be a country for all.
