Maybe you could print a cork like thingy to blog your new air vent for when you are underway. Also a rim lip where you could put a screen inside to protect from those biting flies. Did you see that salt gun for flies? Very cool, saw it on another sailor’s KZfaq post. It uses table salt as ammo. They sell them on Amazon.

Sam. Do yourself a favour. Whale foot pump restore kit. Take one along on trip. The rubber manifolds inside pump don’t last, specially if you soak in bleach. Whale make right and left. Slice length wise the stuck water line and it comes right off. It was painful watching you struggle

I'll second the suggestion from few videos back to rewire the sump/bilge pumps with a manual and new wire throughout, cracking insulation on old wires, rats nest mostly removed but consider the first time learning switches pumps, need for manual (courtesy online assembled wisdom) and practice with old wire. So many splices like spokes on a wheel, after 2 or so go, rebuild /rewire needed... Not worth a short out at sea ⛵ and up dry , (think > 4 years?). Y(NM)MV

Better to fill water you are going to drink with a white "RV" hose vs a "garden" hose. Reason: lead. Lead is used in the manufacture of PVC/parts except "food grade" parts like the white RV hose. Not a huge risk, but why add lead to your drinking water when a hose meant for drinking water is readily available?

Hi ! I think it's not the first time I see you printing stuff in transparent plastic for the boat. I highly recommend you use black plastic instead. The black pigment will absorb UV light before it reaches the plastic too deep, which will make the parts last longer in the sun. It also applies to zip ties, always prefer black zip ties in the sun. Hope this little trick helps you or someone :)

Thought: Can you not you stitch new hoses to old hoses with wire and pull them through, like we do with wiring? Those hoses can be harboring some pretty nasty cooties. Remember that a shower puts any bacteria into aerosilized suspension and can be breathed in. Paying for another two yards of hose may be worth running the rest through. More work yes, but taken care of for years to come. :)

Sam… awesome idea on posting casual “boat project” videos. Could you provide a link in your description on the type of 3D printer you’re using; scanning and drafting software and the type of filament(s) you use. I see potential opportunities on a separate series of videos called “workshop videos using simple 3D printing”. You may even want a smaller version of your 3D printer for your on-board boat work area? Maybe have a gimbal mount to balance the boat movement? I appreciate all the work you do!
