I watched this series on our PBS station - he is no longer living but donated his cabin/property as parkland; he is one of the “original” homesteaders. He built his cabin, made tables, chairs - everything ….. very similar to you, Brucke. He also made the first maps of uncharted land/lakes for many miles in Alaska. He caught fish, ate mountain goat, etc - dug a cellar to keep his perishables cool. Built a small building on stilts, very high, to keep his meat for the winter… too many bears at that time in the wilderness of Alaska. Have to Google to see if you can get a copy of the videos.
