🇺🇿 In 1220 Genghis Khan rode with his army across the deserts of Central Asia towards the town of Bukhara. Many of the soldiers and residents refused to surrender and so Genghis did what he always did in such situations; he burnt the city and slaughtered thousands of its residents as punishment. However the famous tower he left standing on account of its beauty. Join me as we head across Uzbekistan in search of the famous place and meet some nice Ozbeks along the way.

@@Pedgerow yes, they are actually iconic artists in the Uzbekistan’s history, they used to be very famous not only in Uzbekistan but in neighbor Soviet countries as well, they are kind of old school artists from the golden era of uzbekistani music culture. Basically they are products of Soviet times, which is important to mention. I’m a young guy, I was born in a post soviet time, so I did miss their peak of their career. When I saw you eating Plov that reminded me of some good times eating Uzbek food in Prague in a restaurant by the Vltava. I immediately looked up an Uzbek restaurant in my city, and fortunately, living in a huge city, I found one near work. Guess who's eating Uzbek food after work ;) As always, amazing video Mr. Bald

@@sarahwood8943 I think we take for granted sometimes how hard it is to prepare a dialogue in your mind and deliver it correctly for the camera, he most likely had done many retakes of that shot/dialogue when the girl interrupted him. So he might have felt a bit frustrated. I dont think its anything so dark to deem as a "bad side". Just normal human emotion. Getting in front of the camera and self shooting at the right angle while maintaining a clear thought process to say what you want to say correctly isnt as easy as it seems.

Reminds me of my return from Haj, twenty years ago. We stopped off in Syria for a few days on the way back from Saudi Arabia. We took a tour to the Israeli border by taxi along narrow, winding roads with hairpin bends. The taxi driver took great delight in my gasps of terror as he drove at full speed, in his dilapidated skoda, towards a sharp bend only to break at the last second. I gave him an extra large tip. Fond memories!

It's heartwarming to see people who appear not to be wealthy and living below the breadline in countries that have had so many unfortunate events and/or wars/bloodshed in the past (and maybe even present) give food and other items for free. I've seen this happen a few times on Bald's channel and Harld's channel. And it's so genuine and sincere. Now if I went to a local newsagent 10p short for a loaf of bread 🍞 they would look at me as if i'm a pauper trying to bankrupt them!
