Kayla Hutton Her disregard for law and order is explained early on when she’s talking about the nuns who adopted her, who pretty much neglected her and left her on her own.

I think it was explained quite well. Starting with the fact, that S.H.I.E.L.D. itself isn't exactly Law and Order any more after Season 1 (where it was addressed and the source of much of the driving conflict, so much that many thought she is the main protagonist). When she had gone full on rogue after that whole Hive thing it was only a PR reason that got her welcomed back (and her team mates who didn't exactly were questioning the legal implications but were glad having their friend back)

I'm talking about new S.H.I.E.L.D. agents not knowing that she started out as a hacker and just swan dove into all of the ridiculous bullshit she now casually inhabits. Obviously, she goes through character development and becomes more responsible, but her personality is still strongly tied to her chaotic energy in season 1

I liked season 5 hair and season 4 was pretty cool too

One of the best, but her S5 hair was the best, followed by S6/S7.

I kinda preferred it a little longer in seasons 4 and 5, but that general style is my favorite of the show.
