You can use that broken tile in the kitchen, cut it down into squares border it with wood and use it as a beautiful hot plate/coaster

When my husband and I were building our house we had over 100 volunteers over 2 years to build it. I asked each person that came and help build it to write a little note for us, the date, and sign their name. So that way if we, or someone else was renovating the house, they would see love notes inside the walls of the house. Our home was truly built with love. Maybe you might like to do the same too. Of course you don't have to, but feel free to do the same.

Great to see Tony is okay and that he keeps making cameo appearances. As far as tiling...always buy 10-15% more than you need to cover mistakes and "future breaks", bc accidents will happen. It's a very inexpensive unvestment unless you want to re-tile the entire shower again in the future, because they never make the same tile color matches twice. Always plan ahead 🫠

Get excess "mud" off while it is wet, or it will be a nightmare. Same for grout. Dremel moto-tool for the small cuts.

I learned my lesson on shower interiors years ago. Only white with maybe minor details of color. Water has minerals in it. When water droplets dry they leave behind the minerals. Any color, I'll say this again, any color darker than white will result in a never-ending battle with keeping water "stains" (mineral deposits) off your tile. I see many colored tiles that I personally would love to have in my shower, but after experience, no way.

Get extra tile in case months or years later you need to fix one and it's no longer available. Don't throw your spare tiles in the trash, you will regret it. Looks super nice!

Always need extras in case any of the tiles break and you can always use them on another project. Please remember that leaving Lola in a hot vehicle is risking her health, and her life. Well done on your first tiling job! Just for future reference, your mortar needs to be toothpaste consistency. This will stop any ‘leakage’ and mess onto the tiles below. Also clean as you go it’s much harder to remove mortar once it’s set. I noticed Jordan making the same mistake with his mortar but didn’t say anything cause he’d already completed it❤️✨

When buying tiles never buy the exact amount always buy more then the amount tiles will brake. Great job guys I like the look of the bathroom.

I think if you break some of that tile up in a bunch of pieces and do Mosaic around the faucets around the small fixtures, ,it would look super pretty and it would be way easier... I didn't watch this whole thing yet but I stopped it when you broke that tile trying to cut that tiny little hole. Mosaic pieces would look really cool around the fixtures I think 😁❤️

The tiles that you mess up, put them on the windowsill. It’s fantastic. You can set drinks on there and you don’t have to worry about it riding the wood.

Good choice on mixing the 2 tile colors. that middle brown is much better than the initial wood grain you were looking at. I know you want the tree house affect in the woods but you have built a MEGA A Frame that is more Modern where i don't think certain old school cabin look will work. Nice job guys

Stick with the theme of the A- frame, something anything that will go with any color decor you choose because, tile is pretty permanent unless you rich and energetic to replace in 5 years when you want a change in the bathroom. I'm always proud of you guys for doing things yourself. That's how you should save money and learn as you go. But you may want to. Do more KZfaq University before attempting something. It just makes me cringe when I see people making mistakes. Like somebody should have been cleaning the extra cement off of the tile faces because you're going to have a nightmare of a time cleaning that up after it sets up and drys. I don't want to sound cocky but it's free advice. And the dog that visits with the collar. Now maybe you should attach a note. And that might be fun and informative for the dog owner. Show that everybody knows what's going on. Back-and-forth with notes on the color would be cool. It's really cool to see you too. Getting closer and more comfortable with each other. And I know from what I see you too. Are going to have a good relationship and future together. It makes me so happy. Lastly, anytime you do a project. I know money can be an issue. Interesting choice of tiles… Not particularly my taste but the end product may still look quite good. However you guys drove me kind of crazy with you not quickly wiping all your tiles clean after setting them in place 😣 All those dirty edges and cement smudges makes the whole project look very messy and much more difficult to visualize completed. 😟 My wife and I went through a complete bathroom renovation ourselves in our previous home and selecting tiles was indeed the most difficult and stressful part of the whole process! 😆 Btw, it’s probably too late but I would have turn that black horizontal beam into a flat shelf to keep your shower products and accessories handy…

Best of luck with tiling. You do not need to spread mortar on the wall and back of tile. You should be putting it on the wall. I don’t understand the mix of gray and wood tiles together. Are they the same thickness? Of not this can cause problems when grouting. Also I highly recommend clean as you go. Don’t leave all the messy mortar on the tiles because it will be very difficult to clean off as it dries.
