Me gustó mucho el video! Estoy pensado en visitar Dakar en octubre, aunque me da un poco de miedo (más que nada por no conocer nada de allí) En marzo estuve en Marrakech y fue un viaje excelente! De a poco quiero animarme a conocer centro y sur de África 🥰

The fact that you would even say something like you've been to northern Africa but now that you're in Senegal you finally feel like you're in the real Africa is so emblematic of the white supremacist thinking when it comes to the African continent as a whole. Just so you know, northern Africa is just as much a part of Africa and its history as any other region on the continent.

I got the impression that locals in those areas don't really feel that way. When I told people in Morocco I was going to Senegal that answer was usually something like, "Senegal? Down in Africa?" Or in Egypt when I was in Aswan people would talk about going south down to Africa. Also in Senegal when people asked if I had been in Africa before and I told them I had been in Morocco in Egypt the answer would usually be something like, "Yeah, but have you been in real Africa before?"

@@LaCometaTravel Your anecdotes don't change the fact that Egypt, Morocco and all other northern African countries are still apart of the African continent. Just because you spoke to some people who think differently doesn't change that.
