In this video we will be covering the Dakota lithium Batterie Unboxing, and Preparing for installation.
I will also be going over the connection of the 60 amp Circuit Breaker.
Please note the other older connectors I used that I mentioned in this video are not actually Anderson connectors. They were cheap plastic / rubbery made material. These tend to melt when used in hot weather above 100 degrees I noticed this. It was not that the contacts were lose.
It's important to read all instructions that come in with the Battery.
They will provide detailed instructions on handling and charging of the device.

Monster marine lithium has them in stock get the battery in 2-4 days didn’t have to wait a month! I can only imagine warranty work lol

I brought a Dakota battery 12v 60AMH for my 2018 Jeep Wrangler daily ride,have a new Powerhouse Diesel alternator in it but the alternator will not keep the battery recharged. I have after market two 10s speakers in it and two amps. I dislike I have to keep recharging my battery after every other day usage.

Smd design has some good batteries for subwoofer. Dakota lithium I don’t think ever set these up for that kind of fast draw in power.

My Dakota 100 amp hour lasted just a few hours .Customer Service is non-existent. $900 down the drain. An 11 year warranty is worthless if they refuse to talk to you.

Man that really is bad. I’m not representative for them. I just created this to demonstrate the experience I have had. I’m sure if you continue to push the issue with them and request to speak to a manager of the company things may improve and get the ball rolling. I’m sorry for the bad experience you had. It’s not a good feeling knowing this has occurred for you. I’d say pursue and don’t give in until you get answers. That’s your hard earned money and you should be granted and answer not a cold shoulder. There is always legal actions to take is the next next phase. If all else fails right. Good luck you hope things turn around for you.

Bout to pull the trigger on a 100ah. Have read so many comments about how bad the customer service at Dakota is. I think it will sway my choice.

You know as a bass head myself. I think this may actually work Pretty well. Maybe need to hit up Steve mead at smd he may have done this already. I don’t know if it would work pros and cons. Good luck let me know if you put it together. It’s Definitely lighter than other batteries

Have you tried draining the battery at full speed? I’m decided between this or an amped outdoors. A guy did a video with an AOD battery and it went for 12 miles for 3.5 hours before dying at max speed.

I have not tried that method. But there are some factors to consider. 1) each kayak is a different shape in hull this will affect the speeds of each kayak. 2) depending on the type of thrust your using will also create Variable in distance and speed. 3) having the proper gauge cables to the battery and motor is crucial to ensure consistent voltage is given back and fourth. In all fairness there are plenty of good lithium options. If your just wanting to go in a straight line maybe a gas power motor would be a better option. In my experience fishing out of the kayak on any day I can safely get over 10 to 12 miles easy. That’s stop and go in the California delta where we deal with tide swings. Just looking at the website to purchase it. Why does it say 0 for tax? Do they not tax you when purchasing it?

Yes it is. From what I was informed is that if you don’t have it and a sudden spike of power hits the motor it could fry the trolling motor. So I figure a $60 dollar cut it breaker is worth buying if it will protect a $1000 motor. I really don’t want to take any chances on this. Every kayak angler that I know of is doing the same.

After the rebate and additional discount. Came out to like $600 bucks. There is a lot more options now a days for other affordable options.

Dakota is highly over priced and many brands half the cost come with same or better build quality and cells as well as 5yr warranties. If the 11 yr impresses you you are paying for it and I suggest reading the small print.

At the time of the Purchurse I factored other company’s out there. I’m still very happy with my Purchurse. other brands out there are also now coming to light. Don’t get me wrong there is a lot out there highly competitive and more affordable for some. This battery with my big kayak and my heavy butt still on average gets me over 11 miles every time In fishing. Thanks for your input I appreciate your feedback.
