✓ This is a healthy vegan version of this classic dish, why healthy & vegan? because it's made without ghee (Makhan), regardless, it is an exquisitely delicious dish. Cream is offered at the end so anyone who is not vegan can add it.
If you can remember, we "discovered" this secret place earlier this year (a place which offers a little taste of India in London).
The best thing about our visit is that Master Chef Pankaj reveals the recipe secrets for his version of a Dal Makhani (or Makhni). We promise you that it is absolutely delicious.
This is very much a privilaged peek into Tifin Box's restaurant kitchen, watching a highly experienced cook making a large quantity of yummy Indian food.
This is delicious restaurant quality food; but at affordable Indian street food prices!!!

This Punjabi Dhaba style place really does remind us of India - can you believe they even have original Indian drinks such as Mazza Slice, Thumbs Up & Limca + Parle-G biscuits & even the seasonal Alphonso (Hapoos) & Kesar Mangos.

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED (you can adjust the quantity according to taste & requirements) :
* Urid Dal Chilka (pre-boiled & cooked).
* Kidney Beans (Rajma) pre-boiled & cooked.
* Vegetable Oil (Tel).
* Sliced white onion (Dungri).
* Finely chopped green chilli.
* Finely chopped Garlic (Lasan).
* Finely chopped Ginger (Adrak).
* Washed & freshly cut Green Coriander Leaves (Dhania).
* Tinned plum tomatoes chopped & pureed (Tamata).
* Cinnamon (Taj).
* Cloves (Laving).
* Star Anaise.
* Dried curry leaves.
* Dried bay leaf.
* Asafoetida (Hing).
* Red chillies (Lal Mirchu).
* Garam masala.
* Red chilli Powder (Lal Mirchu).
* Javantri Powder (Mace).
* Black pepper powder (Kali Muri).
* Tumeric powder (Haldi).
* Coriander & cumin powder (Dhania & Jeera).
* Salt (Namak).

Indian cooking is not a pound cake ,where every thing is measured and step by step. Every home has their own way of cooking. Two sisters have different cooking. It was a wonderful way to cook and should be very delicious. Thanks for sharing on KZfaq. We can visit all over the world from home. RAJ

Great videos.... I love the different way and methods of preparation.. Just beacuse there is a slight variation in it doesn't make it bad or not what its intended to be. It look so delicious and great methods and very clean kitchen. They seem very successful... Id eat there few times a week if I could... And uncle chef ji is adorable!!!...

Super clean n tidy place. Amazing how organised the kitchen is. But one request never put any piping hot spoons or currys in plastic bowls. Can use a plate instead.

he has used sweet oil instead of makhan.......you can use makhan or pure ghee instead of oil....... as per your taste.......

No traditional recipe calls for Curry leaves. Bizarre. Maybe a bit of dried fenugreek leaves would be okay to use but why Curry leaves?
