I have never seen, in any of Creed's interviews, has he ever lost control when speaking. He's had a tough season and to stay that cool when talking in the interview, is a tribute to him.

Watching it and listening to all the comments, what struck me was that Creed knew he needed to win and Hill needed to finish 2nd or 3rd to get them both into the final group. Hill on the other hand pretty much admitted later that he did not realize the points situation at all. If I were an owner, I would want to know why Hill was not aware of that. Seems to me that was Andy Petree's job and he failed in a spectacular way. Why put it all on Creed when he seemed to be the only one of the group driving with awareness of the team situation.

You had a 30 minute Red flag period. Team RCR should have put their heads together and come up with a plan but they didn't. RCR had plenty of time to privately talk to the drivers to set up a plan. Austin could have run second and protect the field from getting to Creed thus having both cars in the Championship race but we all know how it ended. No one can honestly say they were unaware of the points situation. These guys know where they sit on the points ladder on every lap. But hey, it made for great excitement.

Have to agree with him. While watcing it live I never saw Creed do anything at all "wrong". They was racing for the win, for a playoff berth and considering those things I thought the racing was EXTREMELY soft, Creed gave Hill TONS of room, hardly bumped him at all just enough to get under him and then still left him plenty of racing room. The only issue here is the media making one.

Listening to Dale talk about these young kids who don't really get to know eachother because they aren't in the lower ranks long enough makes me feel bad for Justin Algaier. Berry is going to shr to replace Harvick because Tony said he was a turn key driver, but he is still a child in NASCAR's eyes and all of a sudden he's getting a shot in the 4 after winning a few races in the Xfinity series. And you have a proven winner in Algaier who is a nascar veteran who wins consistently for Dale. I'm gonna say it here, Tony made a mistake on this one and even Dale knows it because of what you don't see him say right before he leaves this interview, hopefully full interview will be posted. Dale is right, why didn't they relay the message to both teams, Creed could have won with Hill in 2nd but pop pop didn't tell them that, something even I knew and was expecting to happen then they start racing eachother and I'm like wth, why is Hill racing so hard when all he has to do is lay back and let Creed win and they have two cars in at Phoenix. There was a red flag and they should have had this planned, it was the stupidest move I've seen in years and the blame falls on RCR management.

Creed didn't do a damn thing wrong. It was good hard racing for the win in an elimination where both drivers really felt they needed to win to move on. Niether driver did anything wrong it was a good run to the finish and a hell of alot of fun to watch. It should be clear to everyone that Creed was supposed to let Hill have it in the eyes of Richard and Andy Petree. They can say whatever they want afterward this week to do damage control, but you can tell from Richard’s comments about Creed only and Petree attack on Creed on pit road after the race, that they expected him to layover and let Hill to have a walk off win. I think that the problem if there was one is that the crew chiefs weren't communicating with the drivers. If Hill just laid-back a little and let Creed win then both are in. With that being said I really didn't have a problem with the way they raced each other. I do have a problem with Richard Childress calling Creed a stupid driver. That my friends was uncalled for.

why did NASCAR put the last transfer race on this track because they knew this shit would happen and they love the chaos, both of those drivers we're going for the win which if they didn't have that mindset, their teams would be furious with them just the nature of the beast, and if Austin Hill didn't know that he could've finished second or third and still been in the final four somebody on his team needs to be fired. That kind of information needs to be relayed by the minute, and with all the cautions it would've been easy to keep him up-to-date with that information. so I think he was lying when he said he didn't know where he needed to finish. Sounds like BS to me.

Love the interview but what Dale did not say was what I think most of us have been seeing most of the season. What happened yesterday was another example of animosity , through the course of this season Austin Hill has had the opportunity to help his teammate in one way or the other but has not done so and what Creed did yesterday was race as a NASCAR driver and in his interview was very professional much different than Austin's. All Austin could say was he wasn't helping me at all well he didn't help Sheldon on numerous accounts especially the last two weeks I've seen it with my own eyes.

Richard Childress and Andy Petree can say what they want to say, but THEY blew it as management. HTH do you not before the race and certainly during the last stage and restart make sure that Hill and Creed understand the points situation. If they wanted two cars in the Final Four transfer was to have Creed win the race and Hill finish in second or third. It was right there in their hands and Hill wanted to win the race over being a team player. It is Hill, Petree and Childress that screwed the pooch, not Creed.

My thought is when it comes down to the play offs as with regular seasons you are there to win. That's your job. If you are not in contention for the play offs you don't wreck those that are. Let those players get after it. As for teammates you should help them to a point (not wrecking someone so your teammate gets the win). If your boss (RCR) doesn't want you to go for the win maybe those companies should not have teams/teammates. Why did they hire the drivers in the first place? Maybe they just need somebody to bitch at because the other teammate is a crybaby!

Plus Martinsville was race one of the round, there were two other races, and what cost Gordon was the contact with Keselowski at Texas, something that was completely avoidable if Keselowski followed Johnson on the bottom. I think he would’ve had a good chance to make a pass for the lead if he did, instead of trying to shoot the middle and risked giving himself a puncture. Keselowski may have won, and Gordon would’ve had another very good points day.

Andy Petree screwed up. He is the leader. He should have been looking at the points and communicating to his teams exactly what the company expects them to do to reach the common goal. Communication issues are the number one contributor to failure. I have seen it in my company and now we have seen it first hand in Saturday night's race.

Who owns the car that won the race? Hmmmm. Also. I can see why Sheldon is moving on from RCR.

Creed didn't get the memo to lay over and let A. Hole Hill win, Sheldon wanted to be in the playoffs too and should have been. Richard and Peter Puffer Petrie have lost all respect.

If Creed “brake checked”Hill that was poor move on his part and not thinking. Creed HAD to win and Hill did not. Hills team should’ve kept him informed on his lead in front of Custer. Hill wanted to win but it was not a necessity. Too bad but is racing on a short track.

Totally understand the drivers being pissed. But Richard calling Creed stupid shows that he has zero class.

Petree acted like a little Bi&%h. How could Hill not know where he needed to finish. If you look at the replay Creed didn't "park" in the corner , his right front tire was smoking . He went into the corner to hot (trying to win the race) and Hill ran out of talent and ran into the back of him. Now RCR is trying to put all the blame on Creed. Look in the mirror Petree , Hill and Richard Childress (you hired them)

Gotcha, so creed didnt run out of talent but hill did? Lousy analysis

@@lesscobrandon6803Hill is obviously RCR's number one horse. If that's the case, he's not supposed to (run out of talent.) Sheldon Creed could have just punted him. He gave Hill a chance to race. IMO Hill ran into the back of Creed to get him loose or wreck him and bc Creed over drove the corner, he had to park it. Hill knew this, Hill intentionally ran into Creed that hard. Afterwards, Austin Hill does what Austin Hill does, cry and blame Creed. Austin Hill intentionally turned down on Creed going into 3. He was trying to get behind Creed to punt him, but Creed over drove the corner to prevent this. Hill 100 percent knew what he was doing.

Clearly Creed drove the way a racer should drive at a short track when winning gets you in the final four. The dumbest owner ever is RC. I bet Creed can't wait to get out of there.

This surprises me a little. You dont bite the hand that feeds you and you keep the respect for your future. You help your teammate win and gain respect. Youre going to have many chances to race for a win in the future.

Reading the comments it’s like 99% of people don’t get it. The frustration was Creed pushing Hill out of the way twice. The outright ANGER was his brake check coming off 4. Id be pissed too and fire him. If he didn’t brake check Hill, he wins. Also he compounded the dumbest move ever by turning left into Allgaier’s door the entire straight, when he was behind. How on earth did he expect to get ahead of Allgaier while turning left in a straight line?

It all started with Hill "dooring" Creed.....then got moved up the track twice as is customary at Martinville in the last laps. Had the roles been reversed it would have been no different on the track. But the RCR folks would be hailing Hill as the best driver out there. I hope Jesse Love has plenty of personal lube included in his contract because clearly, his role at RCR in the eyes of Hill will be to just roll over and take it deep.
