Dale Jr. also discloses how her commitment to his recovery shattered any doubts about her intentions and helped to create trust for the first time in Dale’s life. My wife has stood by me for 27 years. I am Bi-Polar and I have a problem with depression due to a back injury I sustained at 29 yrs old which has kept me from being able to work to support my family. I was a self employed contractor so there is no worker comp or any type of help. I am 51 now and I have finally had to go on disability. I toughed it out for 20 years but my back is slowly getting worse and worse. I have had to go from a 34 to a 30 inseam on my jeans. I am 1.5" shorter than I was prior to the injury and the disc degeneration. It is very easy to spiral down into the hell that is depression. Most women would have said goodbye after my first back surgery. I got very dark and almost evil. I spent the better part of 8 months as a rotten ass monster. She has shown me how to keep out of the hole as Dale described and how to let things go and not bottle them up which will eventually end up with me blowing up and throwing it all out at once. I still get manic and she tells me that I am and she reigns me back in and doesn't let me implode. I have a better handle on it now but it is still something that you can only try and keep at bay but it still sneaks in and takes over. Being manic is basically your brain firing on all cylinders but at super fast pace. I can work in my wood shop all night long without realizing how long I have been in the shop until she opens the door at 5am and says "did you sleep". Nope! Its a pretty scary thing when you step outside and look back and realize just how crazy you really are at those times of being manic. I will rewrite the grocery list 10 times until I get the penmanship just right. Now that's CRAZY!!!! LOL Mania unreal! I probably would have committed suicide by now if it wasn't for my wife. Chronic pain for 20+ years will wear you out. I tell my wife that she is the light that chases away the dark!

@@allencollins6031 So it is 4am here in Michigan and I haven't slept the last 2 nights. I lay down any try to relax and sleep but when you are manic your brain will not shut off. I have actually got a table built for a bathroom I am remodeling so I have been productive. What sucks the most is sometime tomorrow, probably when I am in the middle of something the mania will meld away and my brain will basically go into defrag mode and I will be worthless. I will finally get some sleep and I mean sleep. I have been known to sleep thru an entire day and not wake up until the 2nd morning. Welcome to the incredible mind fuck that is Bi-Polar with depression thrown in for kicks. So does anyone want to trade me. I can offer Chronic back pain, Bi-Polar disorder and depression. There is a couple of other little things that goes along with my freakin crazy life. I would love to go on vacation without the constant pain that ranges from a 5 to a 9 most days. I always thought that a mid life crisis was just a bullshit excuse for a guy to buy a corvette and start chasing younger women. Come to find out it is a real thing. I went thru one and I am not the same man I was prior to having it. It was weird. I thought I was going crazy. It really messed with my head. Sorry again for the long post. I am bored out of my skull and I just get to ramblin on about shit that know one really cares about. LOL Peace

Also don't forget that, beside all the concussions, he has also been severely burned at least once, that was driving sport cars at Sonoma. It is still affecting him as you can see by his hand jitters. He definitely made the right decision and I believe having Gordon and Stewart retire before him made it OK in his mind.

THE ONLY WAY A MAN WILL KNOW IF HIS WOMAN ... -------->>>> is in it for the $$$$ is when a woman meets a man and he has no money. When he is just getting by month to month. No family money. Nothing. THEN... he knows the woman loves him for him. When a man has millions, OF COURSE A WOMAN WILL BE THERE. Now i'm not saying his wife is a gold digger, because I have no idea. IN OTHER WORDS... IT'S SO MUCH EASIER TO FALL IN LOVE WITH A MAN WHO HAS LOTS OF $$$$ THAN ONE WHO HAS NOTHING. Simple math !

@@88fanforlife So... if he was working as a mechanic in a garage in downtown Charlotte, making an honest living, working hard, would he be as appealing to her? In no way is this anything against her, just a general statement about people in general. All the best to them. He seems like a nice man. As for her financial state, one can be an "interior designer" and make little money. Don't forget outstanding debt. many people have good careers, but owe owe owe $$$ and are in debt. In closing, I stand by my statement. Any man with a large fortune is much more appealing to a woman than the avg. Joe.
