Game looked good but it is NOT killing Men of War without a full unit rework. Part of why MoW works and this doesn't is because units take damage based off areas hit, not just a set bar of health. MoW units also have more autonomy whereas these units will literally stand over a grenade or stand next to cover and not do anything. Medics need to be told to revive people. And some units just flat out won't listen without multiple clicks. The AI is so reliant on commands from the player that it becomes impossible to do large-scale offensive moves. Next, the healthbars are just flat out stupid. Enemies especially in the Demo had artificially-inflated HP to makeup for the lack of real movement or tactics performed. I remember getting an entire squad killed trying in vain to kill one MG gunner because he just ate bullets. It's not that this game is unsalvageable, it definitely could still go hard if the devs tried, but in its current state its not even close to the competition. Also, the artstyle feels like a cop-out, like they clearly wanted to do one thing but backed off to make it feel more familiar. The rats and mice aren't even their own distinct factions, I liked the idea initially but lazily copying German and British uniforms, equipment, and everything down to the last detail just makes my eyes roll. It really wouldn't be that hard to go down a Foxhole-style route of taking inspiration from stuff instead of slapping an Iron Cross and Picklehelm right onto every Rat. And speaking of which, this is just my own opinion, but why the emphasis on small creatures without working with that more? Why don't the units have tails, or hunch over a bit, or have any characteristics besides an animal head dropped on them? Again, feels like laziness and just makes it less unique.

Ah this gives me Sudden Strike 4 vibes, the only thing about SS4 is there’s no way to replenish lost units during the campaign and that became apparent when I had one lone Bren gunner during Dunkirk trying to disable a Panzer with an AT grenade. This looks neat though

I like how trying to strafe towards cover kills units quite fast. Most established titles be like, no damage cuz bravery. Good to see games more accessible but tactical rather than pure "strategy".
