Now watching this in 2021 I can still feel the Dallas magic all over again. It's a timeless piece of drama production, it's the iconic TV show of the 1980s, the one and only.

I miss the old days and these old tv shows. It reminds me of a time when everything wasn't so fast paced. We ate breakfast and dinner at the table together and blessed our food. The kids even looked forward to racing to the phone when it rang to see who would answer it first. I also miss family time playing board games and going to the farmers market. Those peaceful memories always brings a smile to my face.

I was so upset when Pam left and the storyline they used. They should have killed her off instead as then it would then mean they always were together and meant to be to the end. In the new dallas that was not very good they discovered Pam died of cancer in 1989. No way would she have left Christopher without a word or any contact making him, think she ran out on him and Bobby for another man. Horrible the way the writers wrote it.

Bobby and Pam were by far my favorite couple on prime time soaps. It was just so frustrating how the writers made them into star-crossed lovers, and never let them stay happy & together for too long at a time. Between all the interference from JR and Cliff, and Bobby's death/rebirth, and Pam ultimately being killed/leaving the show, it just left all us Bobby-Pam fans feeling sad and very unfulfilled. Bobby-Jenna were a decent pairing, but certainly no match for Bobby-Pam. Then later on, Bobby-April was a horrible pairing in my view. I didn't mind April so much when she first came on the show, as kind of a sleazy hustler, but when they tired to remake her into a ":good-girl" next Pam, and pair her with Bobby, I couldn't stand her. Just awful. I was so glad when they killed April off...LOL. . Always wished the Victoria would have come back to the show at some point, and they could have made Bobby & Pam the new senior heads of South Forth, with the new younger cast they did in the in the series relaunch.
@michaelwallace9126 Жыл бұрын
Blake, i totally agree with you. Bobby and Pam in my opinion made the show, alot think it was J.R., but for me it was those two, and you are absolutely right. i did not mind April in the beginning, but portraying her to be a good girl after she came on so sleazy was a bit too much. She definitely was no match to Pam.The writers failed to see that without pam, there was no Bobby. She even held her own after they killed him off. It was easier for me to see her with Mark, than Bobby with someone else.i love those two together.
@gregwatson8219 Жыл бұрын
Victoria lost complete interst in writers ideas
@PlanetBlake Жыл бұрын
@@michaelwallace9126 : Yup. Pam & Bobby raised the bar, and set the bar so high, that anything after that paled in comparison. As I mentioned, Jenna was a solid pairing, but Jenna&Bobby paled next to Pam&Bobby's chemistry. April's recasting was a disaster and was forced on us viewers who weren't buying it. Mark & Pam I didn't like either. He was a poor man's Bobby, and he had no real chemistry or "sizzle" with Pam. Mark did at at least usually do a good job of trying to keep JR in check like Bobby did though, so that was at least one positive with Mark. LOL. . But overall Mark brought no real chemistry or interest to the show for me. He was just a place-holder / poor man's Bobby. I would have like to have seen Sue-Ellen & Dusty played up more and last longer over the years than it did. That whole story between them had some sizzle to it, but they kept as a on/off thing for whatever reason. I will also just say the producers flat-out lost their minds when they paired Ray & Jenna. That was likely the worst pairing in the history of the show perhaps.

In the longrun, Jenna became self centered, after Charlie's real Dad came back. Jenna was put on trial for murdering him. Though she beat the rap, she never felt love for Bobby again. If I remember, she married Ray.

she never became self centered. she was scared to death of Charlie's father----for good reason and she always loved Bobby even after marrying Ray. maybe you should watch again. i am binging it now.

JR had no right at all to butt into Pam and Bobby's love. He should've minded his own business and he drove wifey Sue Ellen to drink because he was awful to her.

Bobby got himself a haircut and dolled himself up before breaking the news to JR.
