Mike, don't forget last February, the Deep Freeze in Texas that froze the state, bursting water pipes, no power for weeks with Cancun Cruz trip to Mexico to support his fellow Texans. This is only going to get exponentially worse, with the population of earth heading toward 8 billion. It may by too late for us earthlings or most earthlings as the Netherlands and coastal cities around the planet will disappear. Forget Venice, that will soon be underwater.

My theory: The areas that had severe flooding are older neighborhoods and rural...not modern storm drain set up, and homes built on lower ground. I'm in west Fort Worth and my area didn't have deep water...only if your next to Trinity River or more low areas.

I live in Irving, on the edge close to Dallas, trinity river is a mile behind my yard.. no flooding, home built in 1950, granted we have great sloping on our property. A lot of the flooding occurred in new developments where everything is flat. We desperately needed the rain and now everything is lush again

We have potholes that can almost swallow a car; don't want to step into one unaware. We have water moccasins, not known for an easy and forgiving nature. Flash floods appear suddenly, and carry all kinds of debris that settles to the bottom. Also have snapping turtles, but at least they don't usually make headlines in this kind of weather; still, better safe than sorry. Of course, I see muddy water I think disease and impossible laundry. But there's more, so much more.

*Paragraph 5 of 5* _The ‘Doomsday’ glacier may trigger a dramatic sea-level rise in only five years!_ This double-whammy of melting and shattering is pushing the ice shelf toward collapse. *The whole thing could give way in as little as three to five years,* Erin Pettit said at the meeting. Pettit, who was part of the research team, studies glaciers at Oregon State University in Corvallis. *“The collapse of this ice shelf will result in a direct increase in sea level rise, pretty rapidly,” Pettit added. “It’s a little bit unsettling.”*

*Paragraph 3 of 5* _The ‘Doomsday’ glacier may trigger a dramatic sea-level rise in only five years!_ The eastern third of Thwaites is currently propped up by a floating ice shelf. It’s an extension of the glacier - one that juts out into the sea. The underbelly of that ice shelf is lodged against an underwater mountain some 50 kilometers (31 miles) offshore. That sticking point has helped hold the whole mass of ice in place. *But new data suggest that brace won’t hold much longer.*

*Paragraph 4 of 5* _The ‘Doomsday’ glacier may trigger a dramatic sea-level rise in only five years!_ Those data come from sensors placed beneath and around the ice shelf for the last two years. *Scambos and his colleagues found that warm ocean waters are eating away at the ice from below.* The ice shelf is losing mass. And that’s causing it to retreat inland. Eventually, it will retreat completely behind the underwater mountain that’s pinning it in place. Meanwhile, warm water is widening fractures in the ice. These cracks are swiftly snaking through the ice like cracks in a car’s windshield. As a result, the ice shelf is shattering and weakening.

Would you consider doing a snip it segment on the roll of USCIS ( United States Citizenship and Immigration Services). How our vetting process actually works. Explain what makes an immigrant Illegal. A lot of folks don't know and that's where confusion and misinformation is bred.

*Paragraph 1 of 5* _The ‘Doomsday’ glacier may trigger a dramatic sea-level rise in only five years!_ January 24, 2022 This news article is from _Science News for Students._ *The ice shelf that had kept it in place could fail within five years.* A huge glacier in Antarctica is at risk of sliding into the ocean. If it does, that would trigger a disastrous rise in sea levels across the globe. Thwaites Glacier is one of the biggest in Antarctica. *Until now, an ice shelf - a floating slab of ice - has held this West Antarctic glacier from the ocean.* But new research suggests this ice shelf could collapse within three to five years. An international research team shared its finding December 13 at the American Geophysical Union’s fall meeting. It took place in New Orleans, La.
