The oilers have the ability to play a lock down defensive game and keep the slots clear of dangerous shots. Stuart skinner will be OK and won't need to be spectacular. Combine that with the special teams and I think it's going to be a long 7 game series that go to the oilers

Although the Oilers are "top heavy" they don't probably match the true depth of Dallas. I agree, It's critical that Hintz be ready to play by Thursday for Dallas. Also, I think Dallas had a tougher run so far in the playoffs as opposed to the Oilers. Go Stars!

Dallas, deeper in net, deeper all round, and the weaker Canucks gave Edm a battle. Dallas well rested, Edm forced to play 7 games. If Edm thought they had to play against a defensive team in Van, well they better look out against Dallas. Oh, not to mention Dallas has a #1 goalie in net. As much as Silvos was an absolute beast, he still was a 3rd string G. Good luck Oil but this series is Dallas in 6.

IM(accurate)O, This series is all about Defense. I’ll breakdown each team then give the prediction. Stars have been an absolute enigma. Holding great teams to 15-17 shots a game in close out games. Makes the other team feel like this is an intense practice without pucks. Stars have been suffocating and drowning teams in their possession of the puck and tortures opponents with very little Offensive zone opportunities let alone shots or chances. They do it with poise, youth and veteran mix, size, depth, scheme, skating, belief, excellent goaltending and turnovers. Stars strength have been their Defensemen who by individual have been aggressive and excelling in their strengths. Jamie benn looks healthy and squeezing out whatever action his body has left in it bc he is playing his prime way just slower and not as aggressive so ik he’s hoping he can last as pavelski has not been able to it’s been a switch as pavelski usually produces while benn is berated w questions as to why he sucks rn. Downhill talented offense with Deboer signature forechecking prowess can completely tilt the ice as he has in playoffs time and time again is a great fit w this stars team is it the dream fit we’ll see. Bc this series no matter how great Dallas is feels all about EDM & McDavid. Is it his time? Will his prophecies come true this year? Will the best player in the world take over the series? •Does the best player know how to take over a series at this stage in the playoffs?• ‘Ima say no based off of what I have seen so far but EDM has never been closer to playing championship style hockey and have flashed it in stretches this year. Will they play that conditioned new style that gives them their best chance or will the fall into fear and go w what they know best and like the lamps. Bc oilers thinking they can outscore Dallas will make this a quick serie and stars will win in 4-6 games. Oilers best style of hockey is when McDavid and Draisaital aren’t lighting up score sheets. When those 2 are completely focused on shutting down the other team it becomes infectious to the whole team and they even have kane executing high level defense. The stretch when EDM won like 17 games in a row McD & drais we’re not scoring in bunches or getting stupid amounts of points I saw great brilliant defense that helped their below avg Goalies and Below avg defense when their forwards are dedicated to that style they can just about beat anyone as long as they maintain that and commit to clearing pucks and limiting shots taking away lanes and angles and finishing hits diving for dumps and flying into pressure forechecks. The 1 or 2 goals that will absolutely happen no matter what bc you can not shut out McD or drais and entire game oilers may find them wining these games against the stars 1-0 or 2-1 or 3-2. If they think they can 6-5 games it’s already over stars have won the series but if they can grind out those low scoring games that little mandatory inevitable push having McD and drais gives any team will be the difference not a forgotten stat. Anyways going to be very hard finals level of difficulty for the oilers to win and will be only conf semi or conf final level of difficulty for the stars to win. Are the Oilers disciplined enough to it this year? no not yet in my book, But is there a way they can win for once in McD’s lifetime yes they can win a series like this which wasn’t possible before but it will likely be too much as stars are more mature and dominant at every position except superstar, hence my pick is stars in 4 but not to be mean my official prediction is: STARS IN 5!

Dallas hasn't seen anyone that even remotely resembles Drai.. or Edmontons special teams.. Edmonton Annihilates Dallas in special teams. Edmonton hasn't seen anyone that comes in never ending waves of balanced offence. Edmonton has handled hot goalies.. Silovs was outstanding. Dallas has handled high firepower. this series is going to be epic.
