the game is shaping up greatly, just having the character running around with the grass and sound already gives such a peaceful mood ! good luck for the vertical slice ! Just a detail, but it would look way better if hand was point down during the run animation !

All this improvment is really nice ! 2 "critics" that i would make : 1) lucen looks really rigid, his position is not natural when he's running while having his sword in his hand. It's not really a huge problem, but since all the other animations are so cool, it's really visible 2) i believe the damage types are cool, but i think they should work with a variety of ennemies with vulnerability/resistance, and maybe even environnemental systemic mechanics (like in BotW or Dead cells) where fire damage could start a real fire, electricity would be really dangerous when used in water etc ... It would be more interesting imo than a system of status effects I believe your game is really growing into a good direction and i can't wait to see the second part

Gameplay looks very satisfactionary, much better "feeling" than many other triple A RPG's out there, this project is a proof that in game development passion is the most important thing. As a fellow developer, i suggest checking out unreal's gameplay ability system, it is very deep and well implemented system with built in support for networking of complex effects.

It is interesting to see how a part of the gameplay works but as we are not presented more of the environment, the story or the objective, it is difficult (at least for me) to engage in the progress of this game. We see how it looks we see how it moves but we don't know how the gameloop plays like or what is the story about. I'd like to know more about those as a viewer as well as a potential player

You should put the lightening essence in a bottle in the inventory UI and have an animation where it is sparking inside the glass.

Small suggestion, have the HUD look analog, for a lack of a better word. Make the UI look like it belongs in the world. Other than that it is perfect

Maybe Lucen could put away the sword when he's not using it. I think that it would improve his idle and run animations because compared to his other animations they seem very rigid and unnatural. Love everything else though.

You really nailed the lighting and art style in this game. Keep it up, gameplay looks unique and the weapons and damage types fit the fantasy theme you have going on (especially the sword meshes and materials) 👌.

Can you create a weapon crafting system based on the data so instead of collecting different weapons that wont be used you can create, design and enchant the weapon. Therefore the weapon can materialize the personality of the player and grow fond of the weapon. Like in the game cardlife which feature character and weapon customization. I know its going to be hard since I also tried doing 3d games previously but that mechanic kinda gives the weapon more importance and characteristic compared to usual item drops. I hope this helps you to build your dream game and I am already subscribed so I'll be watching your progress. Good luck.

Weapon enchantments are something I've been thinking of actually! I like the idea of being able to add specific modifiers that you want. I'm not sure yet about the player being able to customise the visuals though, we will have to see how practical that is.

One thing that really stands out to me is the way he holds the sword while walking. The fight animations and swings look really cool but the way he holds the sword at arms length is quite unrealistic. I assume the sword is quite heave at least it feel heave when he swings it but holding it like this while walking around would be really hard. Perhaps consider having him rest the sword on his shoulder in the passive stance?

IDEK Well, I guess I’ll come out as biased because of my name lol. I wouldn’t call it a clone, however it does seem to take quite a bit of inspiration from BoTW. The stamina bar, the early mobs look like bokoblins and chuchus. Dungeons that looks pretty inspired by the sheikah shrine designs and so forth. But I find it welcoming, it’s the only reason I recently started playing it lol.

Always happy to see your progress! I like the effect system and that it's connected to crits. Are crits completely random in the game, or can they be enabled through certain skills or such? And dude, it's so good you already think into the future. The modularity is superb. Not to speak of the weapon system.

Right now crits are random and based on the critical strike chance of your weapon - there might be some consumables in the future that can affect this, such as a potion that makes you crit at 100% for its duration, for instance. And thank you for the kind words :)

Hey, great vid and I love your game it looks just stunning, but some little things I think could be improved (I just want to say that so your game could get even better, but in the end it's just my personal opinion (and sorry if my english is not on point)) 1) I don't know if it's juste me but I feel like some artstyles don't quite match up. For exemple the environment (wich looks sooo damn good) is more stylised but some other things like the essence orb or the gemstone sword looks kinda more detailed and "realistic" in a way. And, for me, that feels a bit off/odd. 2) I guess the UI is still strongly in progress but your game really makes me want an immersive inventory, crafting system, etc. I'm not saying no UI but as someone pointed out, a more analog UI would be soooo good. That's all I had to say, I hope that you find it usefull, on that, happy game dev !

What if enemy gets poison and its Health bar turns green or under the health bar, there will be written poision in short green box like in pokemon games. I WILL be very happy if you add this idea to your game😊😍

Some thoughts on the lightening essence: 1) The duration between each shock in the lightening essence has a regular cadence that makes it feel more like a light being switched on and off than something powerful and barely contained. 2) Instead of simply flashing a particle of light for each shock, it would add a lot to the effect if the tendrils of lightening developed outward from the source like growing tree branches. If you can only fix one, I'd fix 1 since that was the first thing that stood out to me as being a little off. I don’t think that when you kill an enemy with the same essence they drop the same essence. There should be different essence for different enemy’s or instead making like a lightning hog or a corrupt hog
