Indeed, she ends up giving them the money to buy the small house Andy falls in love with. She is just being protective of her daughter's interests.

@@Wally-HThey both love the same person & are being protective & territorial, he is the father of her most beloved grandchild, Dame Diana had a grandchild when she died, so method acting, via RADA & RSC.

Andy Stone morph into what I believe my Grandad looked like as a young man in the scene when he discovers the pregnancy Test, and surprisingly, his Mother-in-Law looks very like my Gran, then - I spotted that my IP one day geolocated me to an address with 100% identical houses to the pointy-roofed one Becky's Mum lives in. Strange coincidences. I don't see the Mother-in-Law as "from Hell". She recognises Andy's love for her daughter as well as his being a Good Dad. She doesn't even get nasty over his arguably Voluntary Unemployment - she just says "A proper job. Probably a good idea..." I love Detectorists & can't wait for Ser 3.

Xzion Dredd Helena was mass murderer from hell, her own child wasn't safe! Rigg was utterly terrifying.

The female with the baby character seems to think it's more important to go to africa and teach. Instead of taking care of her child and marriage. . That's what people do in real life. Break up the marriage. Didnt it say in marriage vows for better or worse. That baby looks mixed.
