The greatest thing that Barry Humphries does apart from his brilliant ad lib and comic delivery was that he made his audience believe in the preposterous truth of his many personas. RIP dear Barry.

Damme Edna is a scene stealer in every appearance, the skill required for the act is truly incredible, the adlib, the jokes, delivery, it's all just an amazing skill which is why such a thing is so rare to see.

I’ve been going through so many of these clips, and I just feel lucky when I was growing up, Barry Humphries was just part of the fabric. It was always funny. It was always a favourite and I look back and appreciate it even more.
