You can clearly see the pain in his eyes when Mark refuses becuase Damian knows if mark doesn’t join he will be forced to kill him. You can hear the desperation in “don’t make me beg you, Mark.” Damian genuinely cared for this kid and did not want to hurt him.

This is when Damien's last shred of humanity disappears. He doesn't want to kill Mark, after the bond they have shared. And he cries and wails after killing him. After this, he never cares about anyone again. Before he finds out who he is, he tries to save Bill Atherton. So he is not devoid of feelings to begin with.

@@michaelstember3937 I agree. The scene where the nun takes herself out after saying "It's all for you" wasn't needed as it just feels like it's there to point out to the audience that this is an Omen movie.

@@underdawg2743 it contradicts that Damien's blood was pure Jackal. There was no trace of human DNA in his blood. As far as I'm concerned, The First Omen will never be canon.

It's true he cared for Mark, but the D-man didn't give a shit about anyone else. I like his transformation throughout the movie. I got a hold of the novelization and skipped to the elevator part. It's even more badass than in the movie since you know Damien's thoughts. He is in his room and can see what the bastard doctor is doing. Damien is determined to kill that guy no matter what. Damien has no problem making that elevator shake violently and relishes every minute of it. Damien is the fucking man.

I agree, the devil cannot love. I have always believed that Damien only uttered the word 'love' to manipulate Mark into making him a disciple and nothing more. Damien would have used Mark or have him killed like he did Peter in Omen 3.

There’s no 5, but there’s a 4th and 5th book. The 4th book and 4th movie have different plots. (I was a diehard fan in 8th grade)
