I was a toddler during the WaW days, and look at me now, playing Bo1, wishing my dad was around, wanting to thank him for showing me the COD franchise, and making 47% of my childhood as of now. (He ain't dead, but he's not involved in my life rn) Edit: he came back a day after my birthday, and is turning his life around now, thank you for your concern everyone who cared

it was because the old one was focused on the chaos story while this one focuses on the aether storyline. All the past games focused on aether so that might be why it didnt sound like something from zombies

zombies isnt over the aether storyline ended, which was created all the way back in 2008 with waw and now just ended with tag der toten. the next black ops game will focus on the new story chaos (which is what the old bo4 zombies theme was based off of.) The chaos story has scarlet and the other characters, which we saw in voyage of despair and 9. Either that or treyarch will just be lazy and remake the aether storyline somehow.
