@gustafsone 2 жыл бұрын
@@quietizkept I know it's fun to crap on CGI (I do it, too, so I'm also ridiculing myself!) but the truth is that the majority of feature films and TV shows that you see today have lots and lots and LOTS of CGI added in post-production, so much so that it can be mundane things like background buildings, a couple of extra cars on the street, trash on the street, clouds in the sky, even people way far off in the background that you aren't even paying attention to. My point is that you see a ton of CGI every day (assuming you watch something on your TV every day, which is pretty much all of us) and you don't even know it. It's the TV shows and movies that utilize CGI front-and-center, likely with low budgets, that *obviously* look like CGI that rub us the wrong way, and so we then paint the use of the technology with the same giant paintbrush by saying things like "CGI sucks, I wish they would make things the way they used to with practical effects!". You should search for "behind the scenes" of your current favorite shows, and if those clips are available, you'll be shocked how much CGI is involved, and how great it looks!

What's most interesting to me about this clip is that some parts of this interview, especially when they're talking about the paranormal, could have very well been used as a clip in the movie, for example in the montage scene (Carson having his own cameo, just like Larry King). It would have all made sense: Ghostbusters being guests on Carson's Tonight Show in the 80's as they were gaining popularity, wearing the logo badges to promote their company and talking enthusiastically about the paranormal, etc. It would have fit the mood of the scene and the movie perfectly in my opinion. Even the part where Dan is showing the picture of his grandfather would have made a great clip (it could have very well been Ray's grandfather), and how Carson is respectfully questioning it's authenticity; the neutral reaction is reminiscent of how the general public was starting to take the group more seriously at that point in the movie. Ofcourse at this point in time, it would have been too late to include a clip of this interview in the movie anyway, but I feel it could have been edited in for later releases if they so wanted. Anyway, it's a fun thought in hindsight.

Fellow autistic here🙋‍♀️ You talking about the "special interest"? Not very often that you get a movie that has authentic representation (although Peter seems to treat Rey in a ableist way), especially in the 80s. Even though I actually found it boring, the only thing I like was their car, the Ectomobile. We should be campaigning to get him to lead the #NotAboutUsWithoutUs movement, to get more #ActuallyAutistic actors in Hollywood and mainstream recognition after Sia's monstrosity

@aussiefurbymogwaifan6621
@aussiefurbymogwaifan6621 2 жыл бұрын
@@sirkonivaric yes, but it is only noticeable to those who are #ActuallyAutistic actually, because his is the type that TV/movies don't show, unlike the savant type or the non verbal/high support needs, which are the 2 types that are shown on TV often. Dan's autism is what most autistic I think are actually like. "Asbergers" is not a accepted term any more because it is basically a functioning label and this is actually very harmful towards autistics, it also has Nazi connections too
