Dan Patrick is correct, it's not even close. Last year, the Fever won 13 games and the Sky 18 . Caitlin will for sure surpass that and she already went through "The Gauntlet," and you can tell she's very comfortable playing in the league as I predicted before the season started do Caitlin has no pressure at all going forward. Reese on the other hand, will need to just concentrate playing basketball and making sure they're winning because so far, even with all those "Double Doubles" they haven't been able to improve and that is with another good rookie in Cardioso so the Sky has a lot more pressure because obviously the coach let Reese take over the spotlight in a negative way. Caitlin is on Cruise Control and Reese is way behind. It's not even close at this moment.
@elijahdavis6885
@elijahdavis6885 Ай бұрын
you realize the Sky basically underwent a complete roster overhaul besides for like 2-3 players they had last year. The sky were projected to be 12th (last place) in the W and they are so far exceeding expectations. Obviously Reese and Cardoso will be better, and once they get a competent guard/facilitator it will bring Reese's game to another level. CC is great but she got 3 other top-2 picks on her team and 2 All stars

@@elijahdavis6885 like I said, it's not even close and if everything you're saying is true, it's still no excuse. They're supposed to be better and they're not. Yes, Caitlin has 2 other 1st round picks but they still had to jell together. Caitlin and the Fever are just better than the Sky.

Once Sports Illustrated dubbed him "King James" in high school and the heir apparent to MJ, we all expected Lebron to dominate. LBJ had the first ever high school game broadcast on ESPN. He got a $90 million dollar contract and an agent bought him a Hummer before he even declared for the draft. Yeah, he was supposed to be THAT good. But, Melo actually was better statistically - most people thought he was probably robbed.
@_M....
@_M.... Ай бұрын
Melo was better at the time and he was robbed of ROTY. He won ROTM most months and had a better season than Lebron. both their teams had the same record the year prior. Bron's team was better defensively and not because of Lebron. But Melo had better stats. Melo could make a jump shot as a rookie. We're seeing right now what would happen if Lebron didn't have his size, athleticism and passing ability as a young player. It's called Lebron jr. and it's not an NBA caliber player.

Yeah Its Crazy, to me some think its Close, ROTY should take in the Whole Aspect of the Rookie. Points,Assists, Rebs, etc plus how the Impact the Team, the Team Itself, and so on and CC is Heads and Tails above AR in that. AR is good but Just rebounds and that is really it and as most know alot of those were gimmies both by her and the other team just head back up court and not getting down in there like they are now its in the videos. CC does a whole ton more, has more impact on the game and the team success. And putting up numbers still when Teams have her as #1 priority. In essence has more adversity to do what she is doing compared all that should be weighed.
@dashx1103
@dashx1103 Ай бұрын
I think she clearly is the ROY so far. I don't think she is as good as her mega-fans want to pretend (constantly making excuses for every short-coming), but I think she is definitely the ROY. What I wish would happen moving forward is that fans and critics could simply view her for what she is -- a WNBA rookie -- instead of trying to make every game a referendum on whether she is or isn't a WNBA all-star right now. If people would just let her be a rookie without added expectations, .. it is all good. She is the ROY and has a bright future. If people insist on pushing her as some kind of phenomenal dominant WNBA talent ... it will lead to frustration. How about we just appreciate her for what she is? Which is a terrific rookie who might be the future of the WNBA.
@MRVescio

I’m probably a mega-fan in a way, but I agree everyone is putting too much pressure on her to be perfect immediately. I also can see her flaws realistically. I think she has the ability to be the best PG we’ve ever seen in the W, so far, but she has growing and learning to do. Nothing wrong with that. Everyone needs to give her the space and grace to do that.

"a lot of basketball left to be played" After the break, The Fever will have 14 games. A lot in some ways, but with every game the door shuts a little more. Looking at the standings, the 8 playoff teams are almost set, those below 8 are playing terrible and considerably behind, someone below 8 would need to get very hot and someone above 8 would need to collapse. It could happen but the day is becoming very short. I think a slight change in position of the 8 playoff teams more likely than a change in those teams. I think a much bigger threat to the playoffs and even ROY, is what damage could the Fever coach do over the break.

I'll be honest cc will probably win the roty because she's a better floor raiser because she is a point guard and while she does have obvious flaws in her game as in she can't play in a normal wnba half court offense without having a bunch of turnovers, she is probably the best wnba point at play with pace and space. Angel reese needs someone to get her the ball and the sky don't have a point guard who can actually get her the ball in adventurous position which means ever shot she tries is going to be a tough shot. But Caitlin is getting picked up at 90 feet the difference if her shots not falling she can facilitate until she get used to the defense. that being said respect to catlin she has earned it she's going to be an even bigger star next year

You have to cut Mick some slack on not being aware of Dan Patrick. Remember guys, especially anyone who is American, Mick lives in Ireland, and I presume he is under the age of 30 (Mick, correct me on those 2 things if I am wrong). ESPN wasn't aired in Ireland, or the UK for that matter when Mick was growing up. In fact, the channel ESPN UK didn't exist until 2009, and Dan Patrick left ESPN in 2004. Plus, ESPN UK didn't show SportsCenter. Even now with The Dan Patrick Show on the Streaming Service Peacock owned by Comcast, Peacock doesn't exist in Ireland. In Mick's neck of the woods, Sky Sports was and pretty much still is king. I'm sure if Mick threw a bunch of names at us from Sky Sports, TNT Sports (not our TNT in America, but TNT Sports formerly BT Sport), etc., we would have no idea who he is talking about.
