Jeanette McCurdy really opened a can of Whup Ass on Dan and The Nickelodeon staff. I’m really proud of her. She was raised by an absolute monster, she named her memoir “I’m Glad My Mom Is Dead.” She outs the ones she can without getting sued or killed. I wouldn’t expect such bravery from someone so young and traumatized. The powers that be should close down the predator hunting ground known as Nickelodeon.

After hearing the bits and pieces of Quiet on the Set, Jerry Trainor (the actor of Spencer and Crazy Steve) deserves an award for being the best big brother on and off screen. He would show up on his days off and stay on set even when he didn’t have lines to make sure the child actors were in a safe environment.

@@Enigma75614Probably wasn't enough stuff happening day to day for the cops to be able to be reasonably involved. Not to mention any member of cast or crew doing anything to damage the reputation and careers of their superiors usually results in them getting blacklisted at best and killed at worst. Jerry Trainor still has himself and his loved ones to consider when he makes any decision like that, and it's difficult to fault someone for fearing for the safety of themselves and their loved ones. He fought back in a small way and that's significantly more than the majority of the people involved here did and that's commendable in its own right.

That was the way of the business back then. They defended their own, bc most of them were also predators. That is how so many went untouched for years, the funny thing about power is its all perception. These people arent actually these all mighty powerful almost god like figures like how actors refer to them. They can be replaced in a second, and I think if more people realized that people wouldve spoke out sooner. Power is all perception, the fear people like snyder and vince mcmahon and harvey weinstein were able to instill in people with their perception of power is why they stayed in their industries so long. Its sad.

In this interview here he says he did not hire the writers, or the other producers that were caught and convicted of abuse but he does apologize for his behavior on set. The massages, the superiority complex, the snappy behavior. What I’m getting at is, could Dan be the scapegoat for those sicker and higher up than him? That’s what I’m starting to think.. That demon who abused Drake… his sentence was a JOKE. I think the “elites” know people want justice, and maybe us regular people will get off their tail if they look like they’re trying to correct/speak about the evil in the industry, so they throw Dan out under the bus. Not saying he is innocent at all… but I don’t think he is 💩 compared to what the higher ups above him have done. And that’s the thing, we WON’T know about what “THEY” have done. It pisses me off that Drake’s dad told his mom to keep Drake AWAY from Brian, but she legit did the exact opposite. Doesn’t that fall under as child neglect??
@aaronwelch59122 ай бұрын
Personally, I don’t believe it is child neglect because Brian Peck was 100% manipulating the mom. We don’t know everything going on behind the scenes but based off the fact that he was able to manipulate drake into not keeping his dad as his manager, even though his dad was his biggest supporter and always looking out for him, that leads you to believe that Brian was very manipulative. Brian was able to create situations where drake being with him seemed like the most reasonable thing to do. Brian made himself out to be the best thing for drake and the best person to have at his side. Brian is just scum of the earth who knew what to do and how to do it to get what he wanted. Please feel free to disagree with me, I would like to know what you think.

I hesitate to pass judgement on the mom. Emotional manipulation can fuck you up hard and I think it's very clear that Brian, well, dabbled.
@violetyivy83332 ай бұрын
I can understand where you were coming from with this comment, but I have to disagree. Even though Brian was a master manipulator, Drake’s dad could see straight through Brian. Drake was easier to manipulate because he was just a kid. His Dad could see that his behavior wasn’t right. looking at the interviews of Brian touching on Leo was unsettling to me and I could see that something wasn’t okay just from that 30 second clip alone. It makes me wonder if she was ever onset at all to watch this behavior going on because if she was involved like she should have been then I think she would’ve seen for herself and understood why he saw Brian as a threat. It’s upsetting because she didn’t even have to figure it out for herself, The dad did that for her and he straight up told her not to under ANY circumstances leave Brian Peck alone with their son. As a mom when you’re told that someone is a danger to your child you should always be cautious, even if you don’t believe it. Why would you ever take that risk even if it was only, let’s say, a 1% chance of it being true? It was also mentioned, she’d let Brian Peck drive Drake to auditions, etc. because she didn’t like driving. It comes down to laziness to me and not taking her son’s safety as seriously as she should have. I’m not putting the blame on her because at the end of the day Brian Peck is 100% to blame, but she did not protect Drake and that’s a hard pill to swallow I’m sure. She has to face the fact that she failed her son and was negligent. She failed him. A lot of people failed him.

What really brought tears to my eyes is imagining Drake sitting there in a courtroom as a kid, supported by his family and having 41 industry figures write letters in defense of his abuser and he had to know and listen to it all. I just can't fathom that. I literally bursted into tears after that revelation. It makes you want to hug Drake and his child self so much. *I'm just going to make one response. Whether you believe Drake's allegations or not. Drake was 15 years old at the time of his abuse. A child who experienced trauma, a trial and the fact he only had his mom and brother to support him during the sentencing. I couldn't imagine or fathom how he felt. No child should have to listen to those letters. And no, I'm not going to respond to those who mock someones' tears. My sentiment is to a child who should have never experienced any of that. Done.
