Having just seen Frank Turner absolutely crush it at Lost Evenings V and on the cusp of seeing him play again this week in Cambridge, here's another cut from his excellent most recent album, FTHC! Not a perfect cover by any means - it's a tough sing and there's a tiny squeak in the voice near the end, but Frank cracks sometimes too and I think it adds something to his performance, so I'm banking on it being charming! XD

Thanks so much, Phil! So glad that you liked it! It’s not too hard to play on guitar (a few quick switches in the chorus aside), but my god does it knackered you out on the voice! That sigh at the end was 100% genuine and I do it without fail every time - it’s exhausting!

Thanks Richard. Looking forward to pitting my arse off this Friday once again! I’m sitting on LOADS of Frank covers (somewhat unsurprisingly), but I’ve never looked at that one to cover. Definitely one for the list!

Hi Ivan. It’s in Standard Tuning. Chords are: Verse: Bm, F#m, Em, Bm Bridge: A Chorus: D, G, D, G, D, A, Bm (note: the G chords are on the words “once” and months, then snap back quickly to the D) Middle 8: A, Bm, G Last verse: D, A, G, Bm (this goes round once, then) D, A, G, Bm, A I hope this helps and doesn’t look/sound like absolute nonsense. Further note to this, when he plays with the Sleeping Souls, I’m sure that Ben Lloyd is probably playing the second guitar in drop D to get that low D in the Choruses, but having seen Frank playing it acoustically, he’s definitely playing in Standard.
