Why would the UFC give a tiny promotion a major platform and put their(ufc) fighter at risk of getting beaten by a fighter not under ufc contract? Stupid question. It’s not fair to ask these guys to put it all on the line when they are risking their earning potential let alone their health. It seems to be a general consensus that champs are paid considerably more and life changing money that the others don’t. Not even the top guys in the divisions. It’s not worth taking a short notice fight.

Tons of UFC fighters made it into the UFC with a short-notice fight. Some fighters like Bisping became champion off a short-notice fight. Sean Strickland just put himself into a position to get a title shot by taking short-notice fights. And they generally make several times their normal purse to take the risk.

Tony Ferguson took a short notice fight against Justin Gaethje during Covid. He already had earned a title shot a long ago at that time. To keep the bosses happy he took the fight and lost. He never got his shot again. I would have sued the UFC from taking away my earning potential just to keep them happy. Short notice fights are a trap in that company. They shouldn’t taken them.

One fighter is not going to make a difference, it would take the whole roster to up and leave, not just one champion. Overall, competitors in the ufc are at such I high level the PFL is just not relevant at all. Francis did well in this instance, but it will be a one off.

Pretty Bummed out about McKenzie Dern's performance...She now reminds me so much of Ronda Rousey, if she cannot get her opponent down...she has zero other skill set to revert to, getting rid of Jason Parillo was an insane move, because he was in process of moulding her into that complete fighter, what we saw was someone reckless and Amateurish in her attacks with her chin high up etc, if she doesn't get with a team that knows how to utilise her skill set and helps her with her entries in stand up she will be getting exposed on her feet even from unranked opponents.
