TheChanClan: MyHeritage Deep Nostalgia - I animated my long-departed grandparents whom I never met using artificial intelligence! At MyHeritage.com you can now upload an image to the site and create animated video snippets using deep learning or AI (artificial intelligence) or as they call it "deep nostalgia" techniques to create an animated snippet of video bringing the photo to life. Here I demonstrate a family photo that we had animated in all 10 sequences for grandpa, and then again all 10 sequences for grandma. Works best in cropped photos of the head only. Some animations work better than others, some produce the uncanny valley effect. Overall very impressive though. This is a pretty fire breakthrough.. No better way to respect your elders then preserving them in memory. I have a feeling those from our past would approve of this.. Science gets a +1 today

Sure like Facebook and its 3D photo effect, bet it will eventually get copied by many, but I think there’s a great fit for historical photos that otherwise could never have had video whereas tiktok for example is much less relevant

on a second thought, looking closely, I think the photo lacks something , for someone who is in grief this might be shocking , perhaps once AI singularity consciousness comes that may fix that missing piece

I noticed that too, in some videos the animation for the photos look AMAZING like they are actually real, (like this one), (others for some reason), not so much. (I don't know why, it probably depends on the photo or it's quality or the person's position and angle.) I think it's the mouth, I saw some photos of people smiling and the Al made them move, but the people's mouth was just stuck as it was and not really animated like everywhere else, it did, but it seemed VERY stiff and robotic like it was just stuck in one position as the photo was taken, (I hope they fix this issue with the mouth and everything so all photos could be the same and move just like this, like I said in some photos it seems very stiff sometimes where it can't even move like it's robotic), but everywhere else is amazing! ^^

@@TheChanClanLife I was thinking if you photoshopped in a green screen behind each cropped face, and then re-did the animations. It should be easy to paste the two together in another editor. I should try that with some pics of my grandparents that I also never got to meet.

Yeah, FUCK entrepreneurs and innovators trying to engage with the international market after the crime of being born in a country we don't like! Limit their international exposure and make them dependent on only their local economy, that'll for sure foster an atmosphere capable of change! If people won't be isolated into being as dependent and politically clueless as North Koreans on their own, then we'll do it for them!
