Dance Academy is mainly about the fifteen-year-old Tara Webster - a girl who grew up on a farm in outback Australia. Since she was a little girl she has dreamt of being a dancer and in the series she finally makes it into the National Academy of Dance. It’s known as the best school in the country and she is sure her life is about to be spectacular.
Throughout the series Tara and her friends face the universal challenges of being a teenager and they battle through the minefield of elite dance training. Relationships grow and change as they live side by side in the Boarding House. They each take a different path, but they start to find out who they are and they all dare to chase their dreams.

I love how Tara is usually always a Drama Queen and the one who would always make big deals about pretty much everything, but when it came down to tragedies she was always so strong, and she would give up her mouring in order to be the rock of the group, I really love that

okay but can we thank the show for actually giving closure and the tributes for Sammy and continuing the little thing with his dad giving to the school, the creators cared enough to give us, the viewers, closure. Thank you Samantha for writing such a beautiful show

She wrote it like that because it's based on her real life. She didn't invent it. She is being portrayed by Tara. Spoiler: Tara is telling us the whole story through her eyes and in the end we see that she's an author. Just like Samantha Strauss.

Dena Kaplan's acting as "Abigail" was soo raw and powerful. In that moment I was completely taken in by her overwhelming pain and grief. I believed her 100%. Truly remarkable acting. Not only her but the whole cast! Imagine everyone is pouring these real tears and Tara is supposed to not cry at all - probably not an easy exercise either, I'm sure.

For everyone asking "WHY DID THEY KILL SAMMY?", here's all the answers: They didn't kill him purposely, it wasn't their decision. It was what happened in reality. Not with the actor but in Samantha Strausses life. Samantha Strauss is the woman who wrote the show, the whole show is based on her life. She is being portrayed by Tara. So apparently Samantha Strauss had a friend like Sammy who died.

This episode is a master piece. All that emotional music on the right moment, makes me cry even though I've watched it a thousand times... the last part was just amazing, so sad but it really shows you the deep beauty of friendship, life death and pain.

I know the voicemail was about Christian’s feelings for Tara, but the fact that Sammy said “I think Christian is on his way to see you, but ignore him okay this is your day T don’t get distracted ” and then he’s the one that tells Tara the news breaks my heart every time.

Here I am rewatching it a year later and I am still crying so hard about Sammy. I had that theory it might have been suicide, because he didn't really seem well throughout the season, but that's completely out of my head now that I've rewatched this episode.

I still freaking can’t believe Sam died after pretty much seemly getting back with Abigail and looking happy and he had a big shot going for him. His whole life ahead of him taken away. I've seen all the episodes till now. Sammy was a real friend, a true support. I was really heartbroken after the news of his death ....really felt as if I was a part "DA" and as if my friend was no more. Tears just crowded my eyes...DA is really awesome

I loved the show 9 years ago when I was 12, now I‘m 21 and i love it more than ever! I‘ve watched the whole show and the Movie some days ago and it hits so differently! The friendship, growing as an adult, the pressure in Life.. but the most important thing is love and happiness! Thanks for all ❤️

The writers wanted to kill someone so that they could show grief. Initially it was gonna be Ben but they realized that Sammy was the heart of the group and it would be wayyy more emotional to have him die

this is my first time watching this show and im literally in tears sammy was one of my favorites he is such a sweet kind hardworking person and what happened to him shocked me and now i cant stop crying. He didnt deserve this he was such a genuine person i will forever miss him

I lost it.. as soon as the teacher started walking down those steps I bawled , seen this episode a hundred times but it always gets to me. We all lived through the pain of losing someone and it hits home.

Abs was in love with Sammy. If she knew he was going to die, she would've let him in a long, long time ago. I absolutely HATE that they killed Sammy. He was the best!

During season 2 there seemed to be foreshadowing that one character would die - sometimes it seemed like it was Ben with his cancer re-occurrence scare, then Christian with his self destructive motorcycle ways, then maybe Kat after she was so depressed, then Grace who looked like she was always on the edge of snapping............Sammy was actually the one that came out of nowhere but ultimately made the most sense. He was close to everyone so his death would have a big impact, but he was not quite one of the main main trio (Tara, Christian, and Kat), and his story pretty much ran its course.

They didn't, it wasn't a decision. It was was happened in reality. Not with the actor but in Samantha Strausses life. Samantha Strauss is the woman who wrote the show, the whole show is based on her life. She is being portrayed by Tara. So apparently Samantha Strauss had a friend like Sammy.
