LYRICS
Take
All you do is take
You can have it all
Caught
In your web, I’m caught
Catch me when I fall
Stare
Kill me with your stare
All I do is follow
Care
Do you even care
If I’ll be there tomorrow?
A medical dependency to you
There’s nothing shameful that I wouldn’t do
A medical dependency to you
There’s nothing shameful that I wouldn’t do
I must've killed that shit
I shoulda stayed in Florida
Too much I spent
My shape got bent
I'm just a corny cracker
I spilled my beans
Cause I'm a fiend
I lost my extra mustard
Undertow
All those thoughts you think don't even matter
Punch yourself, punch you in the face
All those thoughts you think don't even matter
If you don't care, you don't have to say
So take me for granted
I know I never really meant that much to you
All our memories will be erased
The only way, out is forward
As far away as I can get
Where to now?
What happened to my fucking purpose?
I am just a stone sinking
Broken and numb
Where to now?
The way you made me, made me worthless
Truth is in the end we all end up alone
Can you feel me?
Calling your name from the balcony seats
You left empty
Can you feel me?
Tearing apart everything we use to be
Don't forget to clap for plants
A napkin allergy
A skin graft treatment
Tried out comedy
Got ants in my pants

Since Eidola, I dreamed of a DGD song with his guest vocals. Used to send messages to his now extinct Instagram, and he'd always reply saying that chances of that happening were high. Thought Evaporate was the sole fullfillment of this dream of mine. Gladly, I was wrong.

@Brandon Mickley you think so? It think it's unique and stays in the DGD realm very well even though its taking on a more popular type vibe. Its also uniquely calming, even during Jon's part. This song feels like the band was like "what if we did chill lo-fi beats to study to" and this is what came out lmao It's no evaporate, but I think they're really nice songs for different reasons. : )
@cygnise176
@cygnise176 4 жыл бұрын
Lauren James “Taking on a more popular vibe” is usually not the best thing to do. I’ve been kinda worried about DGD taking a move into that direction like a few of my other past favorite rock bands. I love this band for their uniqueness, it would be sad to see them transform into some “trendy” band ya know?

Jon sounds quite emotional on this track. I know of course that this isn't the only time he has gotten emotional (Examples like: People You Know, People You Knew, Shark Dad, Care, ect.) but it just sounds like he's on the verge of tears durring this song especially during 0:54 and to be honest it actually kind of gets to me, though that could just be me. EDIT: This is a stupid comment but I'm keeping it up just for the replies.

It's really odd that I find a song I don't like from them, I'm forever grateful to have heard them by a mere coincidence.

I'd say this song is definitely the climax of the album in a thematic sense. But into the sunset is like a song that plays in the rolling credits

If anyone wants to hear more of Andrew Wells, check out Eidola’s last album to speak to listen. My personal AOTY for 2017 and they have a new album coming 2020 with a Jon Mess feature of all things. Don’t sleep on them
