I was asking him questions the band and he basically told me the same thing. At that point they were about to call it quits even when Kurt was in the band. So I'm sure when they booted Kurt they ended calling Johnny and mess etc.. to find out if they would want to start up again. Exactly, like Matt said in this interview.
