Slight correction: the only mother that was rumored to help Abby smuggle money was Melissa, and it was kinda apparent when in the episode when she dumps her purse you see the ziploc bags filled with money and Melissa rushed over to hide it. I think the other evidence was right before the Ziegler’s left & Abby was mistreating Kenzie, Melissa says to Abby “she doesn’t want to mess with her, she knows so much stuff”. As far as I remember, none of the other moms helped Abby smuggle the money or were rumored to.

Jojo went on the show having signed up specifically to be screamed at. She volunteered to be treated that way. And the contract her mom signed was way different and not even valid in LA which is why they could leave whenever they wanted. The rest of the cast had zero clue or control. They were told they’d be doing an 8 episode documentary on little girls and dance competitions. Jojo shouldn’t have been allowed to speak at the reunion her story bares no similarities it the rest of the cast

My grandmother is a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh and knew who Abby was before the show when she was running the studio with her mother and father. All she says about Abby is that she would have never taken her daughters to her, even back then. There is a reason her studio went from having a massive number of students in the 1990s to being on the verge of closing in the late-2000s.

I live where her studio was, Penn Hills. I maybe danced for her a few months tops before my mom pulled me from her studio because of her screaming at me and took me to another studio. As horrible as Abby was: so were the parents. Abby acted abusively towards the kids in front of these parents all the time, and the parents still kept bringing their daughters back to her . They kept saying how much pain Abby was causing their children, yet they kept bringing their daughters back. That is heinous. When I was a kid we had a karate instructor who my father witnessed be inexcusably verbally belligerent towards my older brother. My parents never brought us back to that dojo afterwards. Good parents do not let their kids get traumatized by tyrannical bullying authority figures. Early on, JoJo Siwa’s mother said something like “I hate how she treats JoJo, but this is a great opportunity” which says it all (she was looking to get JoJo a career: not looking to provide a safe and constructive childhood that would help JoJo become her most fully-formed self. She got rich, but her daughter is arrested in maturity and somewhat toxic

Abby herself says that she had to do the costumes and coreography, while dealing with the moms ( they weren't usually there all the time) and operating a whole dance studio and go to competitions each weekend. Since the girls were only later homeschooled all the filming took place while her other students had their dance lessons. Not trying to protect Abby, but all that sounds extremely stressful and I can understand why someone would snap easily.

I've heard that Gianna grew up going to Abby's studio, she was never the favourite (yes Abby had a favourite like she did with Maddie with the young ones especially, Brooke was the favourite when she was Maddie's age when the show started) and was more one of the ones that would get told off all the time. Speculation is that Gia was one of the girls that was always striving that she would hopefully get some positive attention.

In my opinion, Abby Lee hated her life and took it out by abusing talented young children who had potential and a bright future ahead of them. The only way she could shine was through them. She had to be number one, and she projected her own self-hatred onto these poor kids. But that's just my opinion.

The way she broke down and looked at Maddie’s mom was so wild to see. You can tell that she felt this ultimate betrayal of epic proportion… made me think of a cruel mob boss but the dance instructor version lol. I was going to say family, but mob boss seems more fitting. They’re cruel and expect complete loyalty forever. Wow

"don't sit there and look at your TV and say 'oh, she's getting what she deserves, she was SO mean to those kids, so tough on them, now she's gonna get it" .... actually Abby that's EXACTLY what I did when this happened and what I'm doing again during this video! she sounds like she's trying to convince herself. i don't feel bad. don't be a degrading, abusive POS to children for years on end and CLEARLY enjoy it/get off on it and i wouldn't feel the same. it's easy math. not that she's the only one to blame by any means, but that woman is downright horrible and I don't feel bad for a single thing. its not often child that abusers ever actually get any consequences at all, most of them run free for life, so i'll take prison for money scams and constant random tragedies over nothing. multiple of those kids are permanently screwed up and borderline brain damaged because of her and will never be able to live as normal adults. she ruined multiple children's lives forever far past any "good" she did. not to mention how screwed up the moms were too. a nightmare of exploitation all around. good riddance, abby.
@sharks9555
@sharks9555 Ай бұрын
oh and she was in a minimum security?? so basically she was perfectly fine. them warning her she was a target because of her treatment of children says exactly enough. imagine thinking getting your eyelash extensions pulled on and getting soda dumped on you is any worse than what you've done to those kids, or anywhere NEAR any comparison of what a lot of prisoners will often to do child abusers. she's lucky she didn't end up way worse. after all she's assaulted people physically, verbally, psychologically etc i'm sure she could handle some bullying that sounds like it was plotted by 12 year old girls. the way she constantly wants people to feel bad for her is so telling.

On her podcast episode that had Jess on Abby was saying that it was Melissa that didn't want them there because the more people the more ways that the money would be split. Make it make sense that Melissa would leave out Nia but include Kalani unless Abby is trying to say that Melissa and Holly had had some big beef at that time.

17:00 i want to add another fact about the casting & creation of dance moms: the idea spawned from the viral “single ladies” dance from the studio dance precisions that was EVERYWHERE in 2010, it had so many views to the point it was getting major national news coverage, and producers wanted to exploit that for a reality TV show. the producers actually were going to have the dance precisions studio be the show of dance moms, however the most important of the crew (the maddie if you will) couldn’t participate because her mother didn’t want to take part due to some internal drama in the studio, and so they scrapped the dance precisions idea as a whole.
@LOVEDlVE

it also reflects in the shows first episode: they literally recreated the costumes of the viral single ladies dance for electricity but in blue & had a super provocative dance because they were aiming for that virality dance precisions had dance precisions is just also super famous

Growing up around the time the show aired , I was a gymnast who had a coach who took the Abby Lee Persona on after watching the show. Pyramids. Ugly pictures of us to make fun of us. The goal was to make us cry at each practice. Abby won’t understand the impression she left on the industry and is the reason that toxic behavior still stands.. Abby deserved jail for the fact that she took pleasure in making kids that miserable for her own financial gain.

The placebo effect is a real thing. It’s highly possible Maddie Ziegler won those awards because she was encouraged so much. Abby Lee Miller put all the other girls down, and she pitted them against each other which is not very good if you have an actual team. of course Maddie was going to be the number one girl. Abby made sure of that. I also think it’s very telling how Maddy refuses to speak to Abby ever again because of the trauma she was put through.
@neb.9489
@neb.9489 Ай бұрын
Alot of people assume she didn’t have trauma bc she was the favorite. I can’t imagine the pressure she had at eight years old. She HAD to be the best and win all the time. Abby was clearly very manipulative as well. Whenever Maddie didn’t do what she wanted, she would make her feel bad about it. For example, the moment where Abby cried about Maddie staying outside with her mom and the time Abby got mad bc she didn’t want to do a solo.

Christie and Kelly left dance moms in 2014 and 2015, the aldc didn’t go to Australia until 2016.
