Composed, orchestrated and produced by Thomas Kobialka
I always thought it would be fun to write a "spooky" composition, after such pieces like Lyadov's "Baba Yaga", Dukas' "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" and Berlioz's "Dream of a Witches' Sabbath". Well, here is the result. I hope you enjoy!
This work appears as the last track in my new album "Pieces for Orchestra I". If you would like to support this channel, please consider purchasing the album here: thomaskobialka.bandcamp.com/a... You will receive a lossless version of this track + lossless versions of my other orchestral compositions:
- The Sea
- Evening
- In the Mountain Valley
Painting/thumbnail: Landscape in Moonlight, 1879 by Arkhip Kuindzhi

This is absolutely WONDEROUS, ICONIC, and even feels like it's just made to create music that can raise the heart rate, rather than depict Halloween tales, GENIUS

Hi! I really love the recording of R. Strauss's Ein Heldenleben on this channel, but there's an even better recording (in my opinion) with Tilson Thomas and the LSO. It would be great to have the LSO recording and score on youtube, because I can't find it anywhere else. Thanks for all the uploads!

Absolutely fascinating! Where can I get the score for your piece, if it is available?

Thanks! Currently, the score only exists in MIDI format. I plan to notate it all at some point, it just takes a lot of time unfortunately.

A soundtrack fits Disney's Hocus pocus II, they should hire you for the sequel.

Last bars were definitely inspired by Bartok's Bluebeard's castle. Nonetheless great work!

Congratulations! Very interesting piece. I hope it will once be performed by real musicians. Are you using Noteperformer, or something else?

Hi Wiktor, this isn't Noteperformer - I played all the (sampled) instruments live into Cubase 8.

@@tomekkobialka I like your composition a lot ! Very Elfmann-yish, Bartok-ish and Dukas-ish ! Love your augmentated chords workouts. Reminds me of Firebird... Major-minor sonorities :-) Those raising violins glisses are superb ! Did you use pre-recorded glisses, or 64ths in rapid succession ? OTB Series sounds really good 🙂 Do you have a PDF copy of your score

@@KrystofDreamJourney Thank you! If you mean the glisses starting from 6:25, then yes, those are pre-recorded. I don't have a full score unfortunately, only a sketch score. It is simply a matter of allocating time to do it. I might come back to it at some point.

Very good ! What is your modus operandi ? Do you write a score before programming or do you compose directly by computer with sound banks ?
@tomekkobialka
@tomekkobialka 2 жыл бұрын
I write a sketch score first, then play everything into Cubase using sampled instruments.
