My mom loves the Stroll. Every time it would come on the radio, she would dance it (unfortunately the oldies station now doesn't play it anymore). A few years back, she was at some event with her senior citizen group and they were doing different dances from the 60s and my mom was the only one who remembered how to do the Stroll!

I was in my 20s in the 60s and my friends used to make fun of some of these dance moves. But maybe that’s because we were older but the kids who grew up in the 60s loved it

Just live it now... go to a place where the DJ will play for a mixed crowd, get up there on the floor and dance like they did back in the day. Ain't no big thing, people didn't take themselves so seriously back then, it was all about having a good time. Just gotta get over worrying about other people and do your own thing. I have often been the only person on a dance floor having a blast just cutting loose.

Can any of you think of what the dancing was like of the period 1907? Well guess what nobody is going to remember much of the early 2000s and 2010s. That period has no creativity and is a dud period of culture.

I had to laugh at remembering doing these dances.😅 I think the stroll was my favorite. Then again the twist and mashed potatoes were not so bad. The jerk was silly. The swim was different. We added the back stroke to it. Lol

Some of those were the industry’s versions of our dances. In general, if it was in a movie, adults were supposedly doing it, or what professional backup dancers were doing it was NOT how we teens danced. At least not in SoCal.

All of these dances were devoid of the main benefit of dancing....to hold a member of the opposite sex pressed against you in your arms! No slow dancing, no "crunches." Just gyrating several feet apart or dancing solo!
